Description
prednisone psychosis is nothing to sneeze at! the madness continues as I've discovered my occupational therapist has been administering 4 mg of dexamethasone via iontophoresis (electrodes hooked to my injured arm) for the past six weeks. I was wondering why I'm still spacey and asked what medicine it was in the electrodes, went home and did the research and turns out dexamethasone is 4 times more powerful than prednisone!! no more corticosteroids for me! in fact anything that ends in -one (or -ine) I probably don't need any of that at all. did somebody say mood disturbance? been there done that bought the tee shirt. getting pretty tired of all this. like a rollercoaster.

anyway I wrote this song circa 1983 and it seemed fitting. decided to leave it fairly simple so it's backing organ (was vox continental back in the day, now alesis micron preset) along with triple tracked moog mg-1 and a couple vocal tracks. and drums on demand instead of mattel synsonics lol.

I used to just sit and play keyboards for hours on, ahem, lazy afternoons, with my dog mac relaxing beside me on the bed. he was ahem lazy too ;-) lol -- if you'd been a fly on the wall back then you might have heard something similar to this ;-) btw I kind of dropped the song and never played it again back then because "talkin in your sleep" came out on the radio and i thought wow, man - they stole my chords lol sigh!

Lyrics
i done some things i should be ashamed they'll always be a part of me
deep down i've no one but myself to blame things ain't the way they oughta be
i'm beggin you i'm gettin down on my knees i plead insanity

i plead i plead i plead temporary insanity
not me not me not me somethin freaky had a hand on me
this is my insanity plea insanity plea

the beast within me has no mind to be tamed it's gonna be the death of me
i made one mistake and things will never be the same don't punish what is left of me
i'm beggin you i'm gettin down on my knees i plead insanity

i plead i plead i plead temporary insanity
not me not me not me somethin freaky had a hand on me
this is my insanity plea insanity plea

Nice one...
love the rambling nature of the synth....punctuated by the angst ridden vox...good stuff....simple and straight forward
in construction and that works....desolate

Moog rocks!
Nice and unanticipated harmonies arise between the voc (which to my ear could have a little reverb) and the synth.

thanks ;-)
I'm known for overeffecting my vocals so I backed off slightly for a more raw sound. BUT I did double track the lead vocal, and delay the second track a millisecond by physically moving the file, panned it slightly left and but the default creamy effect from logic express on that one. harmony voice also default male creamy. other than that not a lot of effects. I did have physical reverb in 1983 and relied on it heavily ;-)

no denying the mind
is a tricky thing. Just gotta let it heal itself over time. Lovin the synth and lyrics, they tell the story.

thank you for letting me download :)

Skweryl on keys?
This is cool. Random, with some awesomely crazy lyrics. I like the feel you are creating with the synth and your vocals. Perhaps add some stronger beat and bass backer and this song will pop a LOT more. Nice job!!
