Description
This is all I have to say regarding Flame Wars, Forum Bombing, Thread Hijacking, Bad Virtual Behaviour, Non-Corporeal Bullying, Cyber Suckerpunching, Own Goaling, Cross Purpose Self-Agrindisement, Low-Tolerant Behaviour, etc., etc..

This mix has a bit more of a melody in it, but part of the piece is shoutingly repetative. Know what I mean.....?

Hi Steve......
I love playing with the English language. It is so rich in words that can be put together in all sorts of pertinant ways.

Trippy is the name of the game.....

Take care.

My two pennys
The forums, oh the forums, I kinda stay away-I have never seen so much flaming going in a short period since I've been here. I have read other posts that argue about this and that but personal mud slinging and bashing is beyond me. I hope people will find their peace, and stick to what they love about sharing music.

Hi Patty......
I have to get these things out of my system. Once upon a time I would have left MJ's for a week or two or even jumped in with something short and sharp. I tend to take more of a back seat just now.

The music seemed to fit together for the thought that I had.

Take care.

Haha!
I promise never to break my "don't get involved in forum threads" rule again. Own Goaling!! Haha! Using acronyms: FW, FB, TH, BVB, NCB, CS, OG, CPS-A, LTB. You have a wry sense of humour sir, I like it.

The music is perfect.

Abbreviations
and not acronyms, strictly speaking actually. I don't want anyone to get the wrong idea now...

Hi Dave......
I love having fun with words. If emotion stays out and the words are kept in their context, they can both bite and/or heal. I try to heal more than bite these days.

You're correct about the abbreviations but I'll have to think up what the letters stand for. Leave that one with me.

The music just came to me as I dwelt on the power of words. It's a funny old game.....

Take care.

I understand your angle here (I think). At the same time, this is a really cool idea that could also be turned into an haunting an interesting ambient piece if mixed in a different way.

Hi aRcTip.....
I may revisit the piece but if you want to play with the music yourself, feel free to do what you want.

Let me know if you need anything from me.

Take care.

Interesting and fun piece, but maybe a tad too long for my present taste. Also the ending is a bit abrupt. Since it IS rather repetitive it could have been fun with some surprising ending with a fun twist. Just my pennyworth of input...

Thanks and take care,
Henke

Hi Henke.....
The ending is meant to be abrupt because the topic of the soundscape is forum posts that antagonize and the end of these threads is rarely gentle or equable but more a case of abandoning the thread or agreeing to disagree. Tantrums abound and they stop as suddenly as they start.

Your input was read with interest.

Take care.

Hi Karen....
That's OK. You found it and listened and left a beautiful comment. That has made everything worth the while.

I'm glad you understood just what I was highlighting and the way I was highlighting it. It saved me from vanishing from MJ's for a while to calm down, as I'd have done in the first four or so years I was here.

Now I can vent through sound and feel the better for it!!! Hahaha.

Take care.

nice
not sure why, but this is making me think of Gavin Bryars. Appropriate for the subject at hand, and musically right up my alley. Great track Paul.

Hi Michael....
I wasn't too sure who Gavin Byars was until I read up about him. He is a Yorkshireman like me and studied in Sheffield, my home town. I'm listening to some of his music and he's gained a new fan today!!

Thanks Michael for stopping by and reminding me of Gavin. You see. Macjams can be a great place to pass useful and interesting things to one another.

Take care.

the macjams forums
have become an increasingly ugly place to be and the behavior of particular individuals is disgusting...best policy is to ignore the forums as much as possible when certain people start to chirp up

all that aside, this is really an excellent piece

i totally get michael 2's gavin briars reference...the apex twin's remix of his 'sinking of the titanic' lives in a very similar sonic universe to this

keep up the good work paul

here's a link to the vid of the Aphex Twin re-mix (good call Bryn). I want to rip off the idea they used for this video where everything is running backwards:

Hi Guys.......
Thanks for the links to the video and music. The music track I remember somewhat. I've never seen the video but may have heard the music. It does sound familiar but I have probably 10 Apex Twin CD's and may have heard it on one of those. I'll have to dig them out to check.

I also ran your track against this track and, with your lagging behind by 90 seconds it good. The rhythm of your track cuts through my track just right. I'll be playing with the two pieces when I get in later today. If you come up with anything to your liking Bryn, I hope you upload it onto Macjams.

Take care.
