Nice sounds
First, welcome to MJ. Interesting song with a crazy time sig. Perhaps the celeste bell sounds are a bit bright and harsh sounding in the mix. I like the extra voices coming in after the 2 minute mark. Keep up the good work.

Hey THANKS!
Thanks for listening! You are spot on with the bells, I didn't even notice it until now! It's always good to have an outside listen, which is a lot of the reason I joined Mac Jams. I think when I was mixing it I didn't think they were loud enough, so I ended up pumping them up too high...overall I feel like they can be distracting. I'm gonna re-upload a fixed version! Thanks so much for listening!

MaxLux
like the free form quality to this and the creativity. The drums seem a bit incongruent, but then thats part of the the free form thing. cool tune!
Welcome

Thanks!
Thanks so much for listening! I see what you mean about the drums, and I've felt the same thing, especially at certain parts. I feel like this song was kind of experimental, and some of the synths are barely catching up to be on beat because of the echoing, but then when I change it, it loses the whole quality of the sound... I do want to tighten it up, but I also don't want to change the sound entirely...perhaps with little tweaks here and when I learn some more about mixing/mastering I can bring it around to where I want it to be. Thanks so much for the compliment, and thanks for the input!

Fresh yet "Floyd-ish"
Yeah man, this has instant flavor from the synths and vocals. Good stuff! Can't wait to listen again at louder volume :)

this
is really cool. i hate playing the "this sounds like" game but i'll play it anyway... your voice is really reminiscent to Anton Newcomb of Brian Jonestown Massacre...one of my favorit artists. you should check 'em out if you haven't already. i like the free and easy feel to this song. great job!

Wow thanks!
I just checked out TBJM and I am astonished I've never heard of them before! They are great! I've listened to 3 songs already and I've liked everyone. They have a very Psychedelic 70's, yet fresh sound from what I've heard so far. I will definitely be listening to them a lot from here on out...I always need new great bands to listen to, so thank you! Thank you for the compliments as well! I don't think my voice is as good as his, but thanks for the compliment nevertheless! =)

sorry
just me again. glad to hear you like what you've heard from BJM. before you head too far down the rabbit hole, you might want to check out the documentary Dig! which chronicles the band's rise to obscurity.

I don't know
anything...so disregard if I'm out of line. The best thing is the vocal. The drums are somewhat distracting to me and though the bells are sweet, sometimes, they are shrill. Very, very original approach to making a song. Thanks.

Thanks!
Would you say the drums are too loud, or just distracting in general? I totally agree about the bells...maybe a bit too loud. Thanks for the vocal compliment! I actually am not totally happy with the vox, and I plan on rerecording them when I have time as well as tweaking the track levels. Thanks again for listening!

this
is so refreshing. the vocal is strong; i love the laid back vibe. and the off-kilter drums are so sweet. how are you doing that? are you keying them into garageband? however you are doing it, they sound really organic and work perfectly for this style of music. i agree with other commenters that the bells are a little loud / distracting. i think you should be proud of this post.

Thank you so much!
I keyed the drums into garage band, it took a little trial and error so thanks so much for complimenting them! I usually get pretty lazy with the drums, but I feel like I put more effort into the drums on this one =) Thank you so much for listening, I will release a better mastered version (with softer bells) of this pretty soon.
