It's the pickup wiring
There was an old trick on wiring the pickups that someone from DiMarzio came up with for 5 position switches w/dual hum bucker pick ups. I don't know if they still do this, but I got the ESP about 10 years ago.

Your musical knowledge and skill ...
... comes shining through bright-and-clear in this piece, in the song, the playing and in the mix. (You have some serious guitar-chops, my friend, and you knew how to create a comprehensive musical setting that showcases them.)

I think that the tempo is very appropriate. (Speeding it up, I think, would detract from it.) The harmonization is terrific: I'm still studying those chord-progressions and what sounds like a shift back-and-forth between a major and a related minor key. (I want to know how you do that, and just exactly what you did. Spill some music-theory secrets and/or web site pointers in my general direction...)

Great stuff. One of the nicest, cleanest, metal songs I've heard in quite some time.

It's a keyboard thing
A minor and C Major have all the same notes it's just how you play them. Likewise A minor and E Phrygian have the same notes so you can switch back and forth. It just how you arrange the chords that causes the shift from major to minor and vice versa.

Thor on the cliff
Most excellent. Classic. Fab mix. Love the long sturdy legs and flowing hair holding axe to the roaring wind on the cliff's edge feel of it. Thanks for sharing this.

Very professional
and some amazing, blistering chops. Loved the production too. Aces across the board Eric. Yngwie and Eddie would be proud ;o) I am jealous of the ESP guitar... I have had my sights on one of those for some time..

Excellent
No doubt Joe Satriana would be pleased with his pupil! Breathtaking guitar lines. You have wonderful control of the instrument. The full sound of the backing that it sits on is great. Outstanding playing and production!

powerful
Nice structure to keep things moving forward, maintaining our interest with an assortment of creamy guitar tones . Your approach reminds me of Demeola's.
Nice craftsmanship.
