Description
i've sort of hit the wall with my own tunes as of late, so i thought i would attempt a remix of Bad Logik's Mad Lands. i find it refreshing to delve into sounds other than my own, especially an idm tune:) although i have little experience with remixes....this has been a delightful challenge and learning experience. i have tried my hand at mastering, but there seems to be a great disparity in the sound quality of this mix between different speakers (ie. car, headphones, etc.) i would love to know what you hear. what needs knocked down, or pumped up?....in fact, any little thing that you'd like to leave for me as feedback would be more valued than you know. thank you for your time and thoughts:)

Mad Lands
Stunning musical landscape painted here. I really think you have nothing to worry about in terms of the mixture of sounds and how they fill out the sound spectrum. I feel the bass could be isolated a bit more or other frequencies in that range could be cut back. The odd very deep sub bass might sit nice. Very cool music once again.

i love it, and often push it till it makes me dizzy. i'll play around with the frequencies and see what balances i'm able to come up with. truly appreciate you stopping by to leave a word tokai. all the best!

kry.s tickles the aural synapses, again
I listened to (most of) the original, then listened to your interpretation. I prefer yours, it is more interesting, and "cohesive", if one may say that about a track full of glitchtronica... but it is... it washes, and the loud buzzes of yours are not as intrusive and arbitrary as the original, perhaps because you are better at choosing points of repetition, and you used less rhythmic thumping throughout. I found this worth listening to, all the way to the end.

Being a lover of melody, I would have preferred a little tiny butterfly of some catchy melody float through here and there, so the listener perks up and waits for it to reappear here and there between the steel girders going by. Just my suggestion for an already intriguing track.

Remixing another person's track allows you to peek "behind the scenes"... I learn a lot by doing this.

Hmmm... How I'd love to hear your take on my "Ember" sometime :-)

Drakonis

glitchtronica
i know it's not for everyone so i am grateful for your ever eloquent encouragement. i used only the tracks provided with the exception of the beats at 2:21 and at the end, where i was kind of going for that butterfly feel. i will play around with adding something more melodic to the mix. in fact,
as i listen again i hear a few things i'd like to change. i think it would be a lot of fun to play around with "Ember" sometime. honored that you would suggest it. all the best to you and yours!

Mad Lands
I'm delighted to hear a new track from you, and this is so great! Well done!

You have checked for volume peaks I take it, but there's some freqencies sometimes when that sweeping synth reach its peak that sort of distorts a little in my earphones, for example at 1:11, 3:05. 3:20. But that's nit picking, a case of bad earphones at my end or perhaps just intended glitchtronics :)

Fascinating
I love the enormous contrasts you're making here, the start/stop quality and yet the continuity. Fascinating track.

Hi......
I enjoyed this mix from the getgo. The phrases, as someone else noticed, don't take away from the continuity. It's a great track with bags of energy and interest.

I'll be Oliver Twist in this next comment: Can I have some more?

The end of the mix was ten minutes too soon!!

Take care.

hi Paul:)
i would have liked to have made it longer, but doubted my intuition a bit. my biggest goal with this was to hopefully improve my mastering skills. thank you for leaving such rewarding words!

Sounds great
I like the way it seems to not keep any rhythm or beat and yet it does, very captivating. Played through big home stereo speakers it sounds perfect.

apple in-ear headphones check: passed!
Sounds awesome.

To be frank though, when it comes to this kind of music/genre, I usually bow out after a 30 seconds or so. This track however has a flow and underlying poise, contrary to the aggressive soundscape - and that made me listen til the end - and then once again.

I'm not surprised how well you handle the various frequencies in the samples, or how you come up with a fresh, intriguing sound world with every post. I guess it's the fact that despite pushing the ear's comfort zone quite hard, I can rely on you being in control, maintaining an overall standard that is consistently inspiring and creatively fascinating.

relieved this passed and hope the version i attempted to improve using audacity sounds as good.

so happy you were able to get past the first 30 seconds and even listen twice. that speaks volumes to me, and makes me feel honored! especially since you make such healing and uplifting music....always an easy listen.

when i barely smolder and smoke seems to blind my creative vision...your words serve as a bellow to stoke my optimism.

ever thankful!
