An oldie that I've been messing with for 15 years. Dust it off, put on a clean T-shirt... dunno zactly what genre it is, but it's about as funky as this ol' white boy gets, so...

Aged jam
15 years?! That's some aged jam. I'm glad MJ supplied fresh bread. Fun contribution to the funk challenge. I'd totally dig this with real horn section and live drummer. Nice arrangement. Cool hits on the key change.

Road Funk
Great bass line and backbeat. Loving the organ work. Synth horns are actually pretty convincing and are mixed well with the song. What a cool jam. Glad you gave it an update. Hoping to have my Funk tune uploaded soon.

Full marks....
This caught me by the ear and simply would not let go! Loved it Henry--your music here speaks my language (although I would venture to opine that I believe this is more of an August Jam--could be wrong however!) Thanks for posting!

Tasty jam...
A July Jam that is definitely not past its use-by date. Nice smooth sounding funk flavoured piece with some great organ work. The midi horns sound OK, too. Well done. Regards, Peter.

Fun
Cool tune, love the organ work.

Some genres are hard to do electronically. Jazz being one. It just takes so much chops on every instrument involved, it becomes very hard to program everything yourself convincingly. Funk is not easy either. In this case I think the drums are the weak spot. They sound fine, but somewhat unidiomatically simple. Ok, let's call it "funky pop"?

Btw, the horn stabs are great too. Horns are hard to do with samples, and this sounds miraculously well.
