Description
This is a piece to ponder by. Maybe it's a work in the Cosmic Symphony vein. Maybe it's a cello piece that hasn't been played by any cellists as yet. Maybe it's just mournful.

Make of it what you will.

Codex of Possibilities
Nice track and mix. Futuristic & desolated feeling. The cello fits really nicely, good choice. Love the deep bass moments.

Hi aRcTip.....
Thanks for the kind thoughts. I had produced this track and didn't think anything of it until I listened again today. It seems nearer to normal Ambient for the way I'm going at the moment.

Futuristic and desolate. Sounds like a good idea for a soundscape!!

Take care.

It is
kind of mournful, not the best piece to listen to last thing before going to a birthday dinner perhaps ;-) but it is a clean and sparse piece to meditate to, probably best downloaded and put on repeat for that usage. A very nice mix, Paul, thank you very much.

Take care,
Henke

Hi Henke....
You spelt mournful correctly. I didn't, the first time. Had to look it up on dictionary.com. Haha....

I do hope you enjoyed the birthday dinner. It sounded like fun.

Take care.

Hi Karen....
The cello work. Well it's certainly not Haydn. I may develop the 'music' side of this piece over the Christmas break. It would be a nice change for me and something to make me think in a different way for a change.

As always Karen. Thanks for stopping by.

Take care.

Hi Carbon.....
That's a great way of 'seeing' the soundscape. I'm going to listen again to see what you mean.

Thanks for the kind words and for stopping by to listen.

Take care.

Hi Harald....
Your description of my music is another wonderful way of describing how the soundscape affected you. I thank you kind sir.

These type of pieces seem to be all to every listener and no one's imagination is wrong, in any way. Or so it would seem.

Take care.

Mediative piece, made me calm down, nicely done as always, Paul.

Hi Kenta.....
If my soundscape made you calm down then I am happy. I must admit that I use them for the same purpose; to calm down or chill, when I get home from work some days.

Take care.

Mournful indeed
and spartan! I like the minimalist approach you use, and the voices are very pure. I really admire your control. I couldn't do that. I'm too tempted to put a melody or twinkly things in my own work!

I think Henrik is right. Great music to listen to when you are engrossed in something else, real ambience. I too will DL a copy. Thanks Paul!

Hi Dave.....
I think that minimal is sometimes a good thing. It does help to 'hear better' the sounds within one of this type of soundscape if things are kept simplistic and relatively 'crisp' sounding.

My melodies, apart from in my improvised pieces, are the 'sparklies' I use. I sometimes put them in and other times I let what happens in a mix just happen the way it does.

One day there will be more melodies, but not for now.

Take care.

Hi Michael.....
I'm so happy that this soundscape gave you lift. I'm happy for anyone that gets something positive from my creations.

Way to go.

Take care.

Sometimes
I'm drawn to works that aren't overly concerned with entertainment.
I like the way you played what you were feeling during these moments. Slow languid stretches of solitude.
Well done Paul.
Cheers,
Charlie

Hi Charlie....
I see what you mean. My creations rarely come from an initial idea as to what I want to put together. More from a sound or rhythm that I then arrange to my liking (or usually, abandon and move on). Or I put together a particular chord progression and see what comes up the best and arrange it accordingly, within Reaper.

We'll see/hear what comes out next......

Take care.

Deep space...
Hi Paul. Had me thinking deep space. Alone and uncertain but still enthralled by the majesty of it all. Thanks, Peter.

Hi Peter.......
Hope your health is OK. Thanks for stopping by to listen.

I'm glad that my idea took flight with you. Hopefully not too lonely a trip.

Take care.

Possibilities
I didn't find it mournful at all. How odd. It is concentration, deliberation, reaching outward and inward for understanding. I love the simplicity of it. I lack the courage to do something like this, even if I had the skill. Excellent.

Hi Duane......
Your skills (in music) lie elsewhere, where I don't go. I'm not brave where you are. That makes for different and interesting music, or at least different experiences of both the making and listening to music of this and any genre.

I just go where my imagination takes me and try to come up with a 'snapshot' of the experience. Rather like a time-lapse photograph but in panaramic mode.

Take care.
