Lyrics
walking down factory street
there's a volcano right underneath my feet
sometimes I wonder where thoughts are leading me
might be some freedom, but how many degrees
and if you overheard me mutter to myself
that's just the way i am
lost in the halls, stuck inside the
glass factory walls
i would have stayed home today, but
you know i need my glass factory pay
everything's changing anyway
it's all opinions, forget about true answers
face it like a wrestler, not some kinda dancer
ever wonder where your thoughts are leading you
would it make much a difference if you knew
i see you cursing underneath your breath
why don't you just spit it out
exit by the underpass, here's my favourite patch of grass
after all you've escaped, erased or thrown away
there's still something left at the end of the day
if you can see it
everything's changing.

Metaphorical
subject for a song? It sounds great. I love the lines, "lost in the halls, stuck inside the glass factory walls". Scott is terrific on drums. Enjoyed the lyrics and delivery. Thanks, guys.

thanks
the lyrics are a bit nonsensical, the title just came to me and I tried to write a song about it.
some of the quotes are lifted from Roman emperor/philosopher Marcus Aurelius (old translation, public domain LOL)

Glass Factory
Brilliant song writing ...the production is a perfect job ...Scott always a tight machine a real cool guy ...I like the vocal vibe here ,the tone of the guitar has something alt which great something the Rolling stones would write ..thanks alot for sharing !!

thanks
thanks Feter! I do like the Stones a lot. I was reading Keith Richard's autobio where he talks about some of his theories on "guitar weaving"... that probably influenced it a bit.
Agreed, scott is an amazing drummer...I'm really lucky to have him on here!

dig it
has a squeeze feel. a little less accessible than your usual stuff, more angular and less power pop, i like it. i like the little lead a lot. Also like the falsetto backups. love the swinging groove in the chorus. also like the glass factory metaphor. DL'd!

accessible
Yeah, I keep wanting to throw more dissonant stuff into the tunes, but something in my brain keeps wanting to edit it out for some reason. I'm going for the sugar rush instead of the salty/crunchy snax I guess. Anyway, I did get that one slightly freaky chord in there....
Glad you liked!

Bluesy
Killer track guys. I hear the Stonesy blues riffage on the guitars. Kinda has a Marshall Crenshaw/Lloyd Cole rootsy folky blues rock sound in parts. I really like your guitar layers and I especially like your leads. Smart playing! Drums - Man, Scott's awesome. This song cruises along. You guys are a great fit. Thanks for another download!

thanks!
thanks for the kind words, like I said above I am a fan of the Stones' "guitar weaving" wizardry as well as all kinds of folk-rocking jangly stuff. my playing can be a bit sloppy so I love how Scott's right-on-the-money drumming pulls things together!

Sloppy Playing and Gorilla Glue
You know, I was going to mention that I noticed how his tight drumming allows you a lot of freedom to spread your guitar parts all over the place. It absolutely holds it all together.

I think I'll download it again.

Lol!

Dig the drums
Guitars have a Rolling Stone thing. Cool, driving sound. Great vocal delivery.

You can tell you had fun doing this one. Not forced at all.

Cool

Everything's changing...
One thing that doesn't change too much is the quality of the songs you turn out, R67. Like the "live" opening and the panned guitars. Some nice blues-rock riffs as well. The drums sound fantastic. Scott is as solid as ever. Nice hook in the chorus. Much enjoyed. Regards, Peter.

Swagger like Jagger. Guitar work reminds me of the Stones, but also of jam bands like Phish & Moe. Very well done track. Good to hear the mighty Scofugate back in action.

Glass factory
Good melody - has a 60s to 70s feel to me (agree with the various stones references, although other popier groups, too). Nice guitar sounds - like the variety of tones you use and the lines you play. Drums played by a real drummer are always good to listen to! Much enjoyed.
