Description
This song was written by me and my buddy Bert back in ’96 for our old band “Zero” (ahhh....so that’s where this Zero Agenda thing comes from). I had always thought this song rocked hard and was always perplexed at why we lost the College battle of the bands to a cheesy wanna-be Red Hot Chili Peppers funk band. (yeah I know Kicbal, I later joined that cheesy band but hey, look what it morphed into!)

Anyhow, It’s kinda funny that I chose to give this song some new life and a new recording in 2011 when the message of this song is more relevant than I ever thought it would be. Im friends with many people of varying political spectrums and opinions, but one thing we have in common is a deep love for our country and a shared sense of frustration with the situation we are in at this moment in history. This song can be interpreted in many ways, so at the very least I hope you enjoy some Slammin’ guitars and consider whats happening around you. Enjoy...

Lyrics
V1
I pledge allegiance
To a flag that's at half mast
Won't sell my future
To a man whose ship won't last
No argument
Could be made that would make it right
No outside forces
Rome fell from its own pride...

Chorus
But I won't go quietly
Nor will I give in too easily

V2
A man walks in
Eyes the field and stalks his prey
Content in sin
His fate is sealed, no more to say...

Chorus
But I won't go quietly
Nor will I give in too easily...

Bridge
Pax Romana was a misnomer
the fall has begun
and I won’t run
I won’t run...

And I won’t go quietly
Nor will I give in too easily.....

cool
I really like the heavy riffing guitars and drums and how they interact.
Reminded me of the band Helmet in the heavier spots (one of my favourites). With the melodic bits blended in very effectively. A very rocking tune overall. Applause!

Being told it reminded you of Helmet (in a good way) is a huge compliment to me. They are an all time fav of mine and actually was a huge influence back in the day when this was written. Page Hamilton's riffing and lead style rubbed off on me quite a bit. Thanks again for checking it out!

Yes Please
Awesome song. Pro production. Most importantly a very satisfying rock-out vibe is achieved with each listen. The guitars harmonic overtones on the riffs after the verse sound amazing and are such an appropriate effect. Guitar solo is classic Gator all the way with the swaths of blown out chords drenched deep in reverb. It all sounds so good.

And yes that Cheesy RHCP wanna be band really came into its own after you joined up. I still remember how apprehensive your were about taking the guitar spot, but your heavier style was what we were looking for.

Once again you are too kind with your comments. I cant thank you enough for giving me excellent feedback and advice on my mixes. I actually think I might have hurt my ears mixing this one. I could'nt help but crank it. :) Jamming with you guys back in the day made me a better guitar player and made me some friends for life so it was a wise decision!!!

Thanks for sharing your tunes with us here. Your critique on the Roman's fall might be missing some teeth, but you got the guitar roaring and eqd sweetly, the vocal style is expressive, I will be back for more...

You could
strip everything but the guitars and this would still rocket straight to the top of any chart. Simply stunning great tune with guitar work that makes your fingers inch to move. I'll be playing these licks all day long! Thanks for the download!

Are killer! Really drive this along.
Backing vox on the chorus really really works.
Dig the quiet before the bridge.
Man that chorus is anthemic!
I envy your tone and licks.... Sweet solo.
Catchy rocker

the 90's all over again
back then it was the gulf war and we were digging on ministry's new world order (which the end of this reminds me of). it's always something! great guitars, i like that little bluesy groove in the verse, great drumming too. enjoyed, thanks for the DL

A lot to like here
Great tune. Everything to do with the mix and recording sounds really good. I would have been all over this in the early 90's... actually, I'm all over it now.

Just my thing. Raw, aggressive, driving rock. Nice job!

Punch in the face good~!....Melodic, hard and nicely recorded. Vocally, the melody lines remind me of the Smithereens, but with a much heavier back. Nice post!
