Walk Around My Bedside

Description
Basically wanted to try something fairly simple while taking another crack at Logic Express.
I started putting bass and drums on it, but got frustrated and ultimately decided to just stick with guitar and banjo.
The vocal melody is basically the version by the Kentucky songster Roscoe Holcombe, but I made a new arrangement of the instrumental part. I really like this tune, hope you do too!

Lyrics
Yes walk around my bedside, lord walk around
Walk around my bedside lord walk around
It’s walk around my bedside, lord walk around
Walk around my bedside lord
It’s when I am sick lord, walk around
When I am sick lord, walk around
It’s when I am sick lord, walk around
Walk around my bedside lord
It’s when I am praying, lord walk around
When I am praying, lord walk around
It’s when I am praying lord walk around
Walk around my bedside lord
that's when I am dying, lord walk around
When I am dying lord walk around
It’s when I am dying lord walk around
Walk around my bedside lord
Now walk around my bedside, lord walk around
Walk around my bedside please walk around
Yes walk around my bedside, lord walk around
Walk around my bedside lord
It’s when I am buried lord walk around
When I am buried lord walk around
Its when I am buried lord walk around
Walk around my bedside lord
Now walk around my bedside lord walk around
Walk around my bedside lord walk around
Now its walk around my bedside lord walk around
Walk around my bedside lord

Surprised me
When I saw the genre you selected, made be very curios. It would be cool if the bass and drum did come in toward the end though.

But, dug this deeply.

I think there might have been a way to make it work, but everything I tried sounded like crap...
eventually, I thought "let's not force it"

this sounds great! i still find L.E. difficult in so many ways, although it's true that you get a lot more out of it. wanna start a support group? nice work - especially love your banjo playing - you've really got chops!

Back porch during the 30s at its best! Th guitar and banjo tones are excellent. I think you were wise to leave this acoustic, sparse, and pure.

Walking around...
...and strutting and singing 'taint like nobody's business! This is the real thing, both in writing and performing and very impressive Relic. I really got involved in this one--just excellent!

Yeah, I agree about leaving the drums and bass off.
This works just fine as it is.
Great banjo playing and the guitar works well with it...and good clear recordings too.
And unusual artwork too !!

Good stuff
cheers

I should have credited the artist (found from Google images, used without permission I'm afraid):

hey man. the bass and drums are not missed since this is so much more effective w/o them, but a *harp* would have pushed this waaaay over the top. i kept 'phantomly' listening for it. do you play?

I can't really play the harmonica... I did try once, on another folk song post, "I'm going home on a cloud".
I think the consensus was that I lacked skill on that instrument... and I couldn't argue that point! It did get quite a few downloads though LOL!

Authentic...
Nice work '67. Quality, authentic back porch feel. Great to hear some good banjo and you did a fine job with the vocals. Well done. Regards, Peter.
