Blues for Kokes

Description
Those of you that have had music careers know how rare it is to meet a club owner that is not only supportive but generous as well. A club owner that would actually come somewhere else to hear you play. I am presently blessed to have 2 such individuals in my life. This blues is for one of them, KOKES from the Black Sheep Tavern. Kokes has been very enthusiastic about my music and has given me multiple bookings to get us into the New Year in fine fashion. Thanks for everything, Kokes, not just for the gigs, but especially for the encouragement. It means so much.

Look for Gwenn's Mood soon....the lovely gwenn vivian of the Acton Jazz Cafe....she deserves a tune too.

I better get busy.

Not only blessed by supportive club owners
but also blessed with a boatload of talent. You wear it well.
This is very bluesy, sensual, delicious, late-at-night stuff. Thanks again.

beautiful
i am always impressed when I listen to your stuff. such a moody take on the blues (which suits me just fine). really interesting how you play that opening lead on slide rather than a more JImmy Page style bendy notes thing. sounds really great, wish I had stumbled across you guys in a club somewhere.

hey guys
it makes me feel great to have the non-blusier types stop by...and if you dig mr page, you should check out Hubert Sumlin. He was lead guitar player for Howlin wolf for years, and was one of the true innovators...big influence on the yardbird guys...

thanks again

Truly one of the best
blues electric guitarist I've ever heard in my life!
Incredible, your our one dude that loves to blue his blues. And you play em well. Oh, so well !!!!!

Full of great LUSH sounds, ¥ou set the mark on how to produce a blues sound and phrasing that is soft as a velvet touch and tender as a new born babe. Eric Clapton would be envious if he isn't already knowing how you play in public so often! Way to Go Z the ELECTRIC BLUES GUITAR MAN OF MJ AND OF COURSE OTHER PLACES YOU PLAY I'M SURE!

Z
I was listening at the end of your tune in Itunes and I had to laugh it was SO good Z. When I laugh at something in the way I do when I hear something that is so cool, It was about at the end 3:47 were you use the tremolo and fuzz really shakes in with nervous tension that is quite cool. As well as throwing in Jimi H and clapton and making it your own. Way to Go!!!!

This is beautiful man ... almost reminiscent of Roy Buchanan in a few spots ... great live feel and your guitar is played with lots of soul.

Ah
A few months ago, I was interviewing John Abercrombie and the conversation turned to blues and all its permutations. He got talking about how atmosphere could take the blues to different levels and now I think I get what he meant.

This piece has just the right amount of jazzy I think. Enough to create that atmosphere without taking it too far out of its 12-bar roots.

Cudos Slowhand!

Blues for Kokes
Reminds me of one of my favourite guitar solos - Gary Moore in "Still got the blues for you". Great deal, extremely skilful and that tone is magnificent. Thanks for the download!
