The Sentinals(MJ spacerace challenge)

Description
I believe music is a gift to man from God, but for this story I imagine an extinct ancient race of beings from Mars who were responsible for sending music out to the Galaxy for all races to learn and share. Because of the mathematical nature of music it is easy to assume inteligent life elsewhere in the universe may also communicate with it as we do to one another.

Rock On Sentinals, Rock On!!!

Fyi, there's about 29 seconds of dead air at the end of the piece, sorry. I keep forgetting to trim off the ends! Bad form, I know.

Lyrics
We were The Sentinals of Mars

The creators of the Music Of The Spheres

But time reclaimed the Band

We returned to the sand

We were The Sentinals Of Mars

We were the Music in the stars

Cool track......
I really like how you put this together, very original, very real...

Space is a funny place to try and portray musically, when we can hear
some music coming to us other then our own echo, then we'll be truly
able to understand the hole concept of Music......

This is a real good guestemation..... :)

things that live in the dead air
29 seconds... it gives us time to breathe, to reflect, to reverberate with the music of the spheres. As always, you bring us music as epic as a planet. Uniquely crafted speaking voice, granular as red dust. Well done.

Drakonis

Mathematical nature
Great idea. Space prog. Hmmm .... Now, I will have to steal the idea for the next SRC. Great production quality and a fine piece of work all around.

Prog Rock
originated on Mars? Of course it did! Buried beneath all that red sand are speaker stacks and synth racks you wouldn't believe.

Interesting idea, great tune and very well done.

Production is stunning. Tells of others in this wonderful Universe, How wonderful it will be when we come back in another world to continue our missions in life. Wonderful Story!

Sentinels
Cosmic music story that resolves a bit of the mystery around how we "found" music :) Your choice of synths worked excellently and the guitar was crushing.

thanks for the download :)

I am really blown away
by the diversity and creativity of mind and music of this year's SRC entries. And your piece covers yet another genre if I'm not mistaken. You've got a great idea here and well executed too. Well played and well spoken ;-)

Thanks and take care,
Henke

BTW, I got no hit on sentinals, I guess you mean sentinels/guards/watch keepers?

!
dig it. also getting the pink floyd feel mentioned earlier. probably the darkness of it all. like i said, i feel like i should've gotten high first! :)

i like the concept and the story, short as it is! kind of reminds me of this german techno project that was based on dune (called dune, appropriately). just in terms of the words and the idea, not the music.

anyway, nicely done!

Concept Album Sound
What a build! Really effective use of the echoes in the guitar intro - they seem to radiate sound out into space. Love the drums, the mix, and of course the guitar work. Really rocks for me.

Nice one!

I have been playing guitar from the age of 15, I grew up surrounded by good music. My parents were hippies durring the 60's and 70's, I credit them for most of my creative energy. I had fantasies of being a Rock Star at the age of 10, the first album... [see more]
