Robots Like to Break it Down

Description
I brought this track with me from my latest trip to the future, a popular dance anthem for androids and robots.

Or it's just me experimenting with Ultrabeat and a test drum kit but couldn't help adding wacky robot-sounding stuff to the song project (and then a little homage too).

Bebot (an Iphone app) is making a guest apperance here and the voice is Fred from Mac OS. If I had a vocoder, I would probably have used it.

Any kind of feedback always welcome.

Cool stuff
And being quite incapable of dancing myself, I am happy to know that it is acceptable to send in one's robot on the floor as a substitute in the future ;-) Nice grooves and retro-futuristic soundbed (TD meets Kraftwerk, or something). Thanks!

Take care,
Henke

Hip Robop err Bebot. Cool programming and I love the sounds you use. Especially on the melodies I hear. Oh and I would definitely use a vocoder imo. It would make it more Robotic-eee.

Thanks!

I just realized that a track with robot sound fx has strangely disappeared from the mix but I didn't notice it until now. Guess it wasn't that important, but yes a vocoder would fit nicely here.

Hehe, I like the dryer and the washer too! But they don't break it down like that woman does, check her out!

Robots
Solid beat underneath the various elements that you introduce. I can almost hear you thinking about ways to make this interesting and varied as this develops and the instruments/sounds are introduced. Not a style of music I listen to a lot, but I can appreciate the skill and thought you have put into this. Much enjoyed.

It's pretty easy to build something on the robot theme, I had to stop myself from throwing too much in. Thanks for listening and commenting Philip :)

Hi aRcTip.....
This robot mix was well worth waiting for. It's good for robots and androids to let their fibre-optic hair down once in a while.

This theme would have them dancing wherever they were. You see they couldn't resist this type of robot-hop or android-shuffle.

Take care.

Hehe... yeah, you got to keep them happy in some way or they'll turn against you.

I'm looking forward to hear your holiday stuff!

Future a go
Cool opening and some sweet arpeggiated runs. Cool bridge midwya through. This groove works and to me is crying out to really be blasted open, meaning the same groove, tempo etc. but morphing into some really aggro big beat drum and bass sounds. As it is it grooves, but seems to stay at one level. Listen to Röyksopp "Happy Up Here" to get my meaning. Anyway just a thought. Nicely done.

coool
love this, such good machine sounds. I think Fred is totally appropriate for this one. great drum programming too. did you ever see the Flight of the Conchords number where the humans were dead and the robots had taken over? only one dance: the Robot Boogie. and everyone says affirmative instead of yes. anyways, great track. hit me up and i'll tell you how to use the vocoder in Logic (yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus).

Cheers M2! Yeah, it's about time for me to start practice drum programming, it's too easy to throw in a drum loop (but sometimes it's hard to resist).

That's the FOTC pilot isn't it? I remember the costumes and the binary solo: 010111000110101

Wow, I learned something new about american christmas folklore AND Logic from your comment, thanks. I'll remember that when my next robot track is up :)

Irresistible fun. I can't keep still! You must have had a good time doing putting this together.

Break It Down
I've been to the future and this was one of my favorite tunes way back then when things were modern.

Great track. Love the ultrabeat sound you've created. I almost want to get Logic just for that alone. I also like your Bebot parts. It's cool to see a great iPhone app make it's way into a song.

Nice work.

Downloaded.

Robots
In 3156 this is enjoying a revival. In fact in 3156 [
pretty much every hit from 3014 is back in the charts apart from Voltron's "Rock me, I'm a Deus" which of course was banned under the treaty of Betelgeuse due to it's use as a weapon of mass destruction in the Second Android Engagement.
I still love it though.

Love that big phat wobble bass you get in there. It's definitely the now club sound! I like the way the synth rhythms play off each other. Very cool track.

Robots Like to Break It Down
Now that you've traveled to the future, has it become the past? Just wondering. Love the multi-melodies in this piece, as well as the instrumentation. Vocoders are boss, so I hope you get into them soon. Thanks for posting.
