Lyrics
Believe in me

At you window reflecting pain
Turn you face from the wind and the rain
The call of the sea the rolling wild
Love is a key oh restless child

Believe I can set you free
I can set you free, yeah

Your idol waits in the niche in the wall
Open your eyes and see nothing at all
Say your prayer with face to ground
Toll that bell and hear no sound

Believe I can set you free
I can set you free, yeah

Chorus

The Beast in you it can be tamed
By the music playing in your name
The beast in you is like a tender dove
Released for you by God above
The beast in you, the beast in you
It's just the beast that's in you

Reach for the gold with your silver tongue
Hand on heart what have you become
Count the coin and then the cost
Figure it out just what you've lost

Believe I can set you free
I can set you free, yeah

Love and hate move hand in hand
Suspicion bleeds the grains of sand
Break my heart choose your stone
Just for the need of you being alone

Chorus

Bridge
Believe in me and you'll see me
Believe in me and you'll see me
Believe Believe

Innocence is made to pay
You stole the fruit and then turned away
Leaves me cold in devils fire
The truth be told you are a liar

Believe I can set you free
I can set you free, yeah

At your window reflecting pain
Turn you face from the wind and the rain
Smell the fear creep over you
Step from the pier into hungry blue

Chorus

First!
Beautiful song. The arrangement is silky - love the way you use the various instruments. The tone of that guitar noodling in the right channel is lovely. The strings give a sense of thoughtful reflection. I'm impressed! Thanks for the download.

Mellow
Very appealing song and several stanzas of the lyrics couldn't be any better. Engaging and intimate performance--all very good work. Thanks again for sharing it!

Pleasure listening
Vocal quality is superb. Like the strings too. Song speaks to choices faith offers; well put.

Delicious!
This is a gorgeous song, lovely melody and so well-sung and played. Occasionally some of the words seem to get 'lost' under the music track, so if you ever remix you may want to bring these back up.

Really nice work
An interesting take on faith.

So often we take what we can not what we need.

Thanks for the listen to Music by Numbers - much appreciated!

Cheers

So...stick around...
Long enough that people start tuning in to your songs. These songs should have dozens of comments and fans, and they will, given time.

I continue to enjoy your singing, and your melodies and lyrics. Is that a nylon string lead, or is it coming from a keyboard?

I believe!
The qulaity of the songwriting, playing and recording are excellent. The nylon strung guitar sounds fantastic and if it's actually played on a real guitar (as opposed to samples) then I'm totally gob-smacked! The nylon strung lines reminds me of some Al Stewart songs - great!

Imagine working at a steelworks in a northern town for more years than you care to remember, with words and lyrics always the main distraction from it all. Hastily written down on the back of job cards and scraps off paper, hidden away from your mate... [see more]
