Description
A small but quirky pop poem that could have depth to them who seek, but works just as well as 24 Hour Party People addition. Thanks for listening. /M

Lyrics
new york | new york

life is small, if looking down from a star
a man in a suite, crossing the river
going to Manhattan, in the cold of the night
blue, blue moon, shining from his eyes
only kings can pass the port imperial
with an invisible crown, they concur every town

coming at you, new york | new york
coming to get you, new york | new york

life is small, buildings are tall
his jazzy shirt, and feather hat
his tongue of wisdom it never rests
painted eyes and glossy lips
andy-style, in boots of leather
shiny-shiny people; there's no forever

Great syncopated 80s vibe synth backing. There's a dark edge to the lyrics and vocal melody that's very cool.

love the coming to get you new york, new york My hometown grew up in queens and brooklyn I know about that guy in the suit in the middle of the night, I think you would have liked NY better in the 60's 70's and early 80's like the pic Andy rules!

As cool as ever!
Love the tune and performance - very nice mix too - no pushing the limits, just solid, clean sounds. While I don't always get your lyrics, they always set up a feeling which I definitely do get.
Great post Mikki!

NY/NY
Missing my old home. I dig how this keeps building and then jumps back to simplicity. Lots of 80's vibe here, Kraftwerk, Haircut 100 (the good 80's - y'a know before it got all cheesy) A rocking kind of driving synth rocker in a way. Love the build with the vocals at 3:16. Nice!

Great track Mikki
love 24 hour party people and this could definitely fit the Manx bill - but it's more than that. It has that unique quality of the sublime and abstract that you bring to your work. Very cool.

New York
Maybe I'll have to go to New York to understand the lyrics, but I like the driving synth and the high energy of the tune. Good work!

24 Hour Party People
I dig the electronic feel. Another inscrutable quirky track from one of those experimenting guys I always look forward to hear. I was wondering, tho, about that "there's no forever" line. I imagine 24 Hour People live so in the moment, it must seem like forever, in the moment. If no one can truly imagine their own death, can (medicated) party people imagine the death of their moment?

Thanks for sharing these gems.
