Sebastian (Blade Runner character) is having a restless night so he goes to sit with his creations. This is the soundscape that paints the picture of his restless mind and the noises of the house whilst he sits with his creations; automata and other autonomous artificial lifeforms.

It is 13:25 in length.

Accelerated Decrepitude
Maybe Sebastian knows his time is running out?

A nice 13 minute trek into the classic cult we all come to love. Nice patterns that created with rich textures. Nice job! patty

Hi Patty.......
I agree with you. He's restless about/for something but he can't quite put his finger on what it is....Queue Roy/Sebastian in the lift......

I'm glad you liked this. I tried to put more sparklies into the piece, to contrast the PAD sound and sound like his toys and such.

Take care.

Hi Bill.....
That is all I can ask for, that you found one of my pieces meditative.

I read books when I listen to my pieces as I put them together. If any particular thing is 'wrong' it will put me off reading so I can get to sorting the mix out. If I can't read because of the music I know it's not what I wanted, so most times I put the mix away and start another.

Take care.

I recently watched Bladerunner and have it fresh in mind. Excellent capturing of the film's theme here. Nice bass. Interesting way of creating these soundscapes by combining music and reading!

Hi aRcTip......
BladeRunner is an all time favourite of mine. (I wonder if you already guessed that)! The effect I was going for was in the sparklies or the bits where Sebastians mind wanders. The wash in the background was bonus, as it did sound somewhat Vangelis albeit with less reverb/echo.

The reading bit is such that if I can read whilst listening to a piece of my music, it's well behaved or just how I like it to sound.

Take care.

Restless Evening
HIghly evocative of your setting, but beyond that the emotions that this pulls out are surprisingly powerful. Even the first chord change had be by the lapels. Careful development here with the creepy little waterphone like sounds to provide that unnerving chatter. I can imagine the automata lit faintly by light through blinds bouncing in from the street.

Well conceived Paul!

Hi Doug.....
The rain patterns, with the street lights throwing these random, evolving shapes onto the nets/curtains/glass/walls of the room is also very evocative whilst the camera pans around all the automata awaiting their creators instructions. Some with eyes that follow the cameras eye and some that are less aware sentiently.

Take care.

The Blade Runner sound track by Vangelis is an all time favorite of mine, this ambient rack does bring back the memory of the movie, which is also a favorite of mine, well done track..

Hi Dave....
As I said above. The movie is one of my all time favourites. I have all the anniversary versions, the original, the directors cut. I've also read the book and at least two versions of the soundtrack. I'm steeped in Vangelis but rarely get the vibe right when I try to emulate their musical ambience. This mix seemed to work.

Take care.

creations, for me, were one of the film's most disturbing aspects! I think you captured the scene you describe perfectly. Sounds echoing around the huge, desolate rooms he lives in, his strange replicant "toys" wandering around the halls, Sebastian sitting there pondering his fate. Perfect!

Hi Dave....
'Home again, home again....Yeehoooooo' I love that scene, and when Dekard is searching the main room and Pris is there under the net and you see the real fear in her expression. She's really scared. Almost human in her behaviour and reactions. Panic-stricken.

Take care.
