Lyrics
Nocturne (redemption postponed)
W&M Franciscus Henri (Orient Pacific)

3am. In the morning it’s always the same
Jesus Christ, it’s raining again
I wrote down some words but the meanings had changed
I threw them away

Unread books and empty glasses
Just a measuring of time
Prose in silent contradiction
Poetry without a rhyme

I put down my guitar and I stopped playing
I’d grown tired of the song
I guess the change was for the better
No one ever sang along

Just before dawn it’s always the same
Jesus Christ, it just keeps raining
I had a dream but the meaning is lost
It slipped away

Unmade calls unanswered messages
No one to call, no one to blame
Ignored letters, invitations
Accusations with out a name

Somewhere I hear a radio playing
Someone is trying to sing along
Who can say if there’s a reason
But she’s got the words all wrong

Start of the day
It’s always the same

Poetry without a rhyme
Everything must change except the "Law of the Universe" it is true always and eternally. Connecting to that Law is possible if only you change 'Poetry without a Rhyme" to Poetry from within! Great Piece my man..Revealing and "down home' teal.! Production and Composing Excellent. Musical Performance Grand! Vocals down and deep!

have you ever had a time when you couldn't find a r....
Thanks TvR for the compliment. I originally wrote the lyrics for a local Jazz pianist but he was apparently over come by a bout of optimism. So I made it a Macj project. Phil and I learning a few tricks ...to infinity and beyond

Nocturne
Some very strong writing here. This scratches the Leonard Cohen itch. Strong vocal, arrangement and production. I especially like the nylon sting guitar parts.

L C
thanks John I admit to being hit with the Cohen wand here.
I can't take any credit for the guitar line ..that's phil18.
Though I admit to finding him wandering the street in a state of insomnia.

Another strong song...
Another lyrically strong song, Franc. Your fine vocals take center stage (as they should) and the accompaniment is sympathetic to the mood. Philip does a wonderful job with the nylon string guitar work and the keyboard part placements sit well in the mix. Thanks, Peter.

Nocturne
You have a great song here, Franc! It was good to be part of it - your orchestration of it pushed me into some new areas of Garageband, and I think the end result works!

I wrote down some words but the meanings had changed
Lovely poetry, very well written

Nice combination of instruments and well executed; vocals sit pleasantly and are delivered with proper emote.

Thanks for sharing!

hung up on lyrics!
I can't help it if I don't like the words I abandon the song
take Tom Waites or Bernie Taupin, leave the music out and you've still got poetry. that's what I'm aiming for.

Franciscus,
Beautiful. Articulate. Poetic. Fluid. Exuding. I am so glad I met you here, virtually.

Background rain, authentic vocals
I totally dig your vocals, your ability to pronounce your words with such importance and internal life. A truly authentic sound.

I sometimes wonder what it must be like to be sad and lonely in San Diego, where it rarely rains or is even cloudy. I guess they still have whiskey there. Or, at least, tequila.

whats it like to be lonely in Kyoto?
Hi Tobin Thanks for finding me.
I'm not sure where the diction comes from..I did spend a lot of time performing and singing for children (see www.misterwhiskers.com)
and soon found that if they couldn't understand you they lost interest.

Very Nice
Each track is recorded really well. I might change the level here and there but I never get to work with material this nice. Lyrics have a well-built rhythm and the rain ties the verses together. Well done.

hi franciscus. i love this. ok, i bridled at the 3am in the morning line (i blame my mother).....but very quickly the tautology evanesced into the ether and i was left with your fantastic vocal.....and very smart lyrics. i really like the urgency of the instrumental. AND....i really liked the ending.
your voice is really unique and memorable. consider the green-ness mutually felt!

where is the full stop?
I know what the bridle was..the tautology is in presentation not grammer
In the lyrics there is a full stop after 3am.
So I should have sung "three am (taken a breath) In the morning etc...
you may now take yourself out of the foetel position and be nice to your Mum! Keep rocking !
