Mandolin and Melancholy
Sounds like a little funk is trying to creep in..smile. A mellow A A A swell picking time you're having my friend. Vox is surprising when it enters. Sing it my man..I'm smiling. "I was in love with your soul' Cold my man. Lyrical Gem.. And you sing it well.

Moonlight
seems like the mandolin is making a major comeback. i can think of at least five songs here that feature it off the top of my head.
put to good use here too in the stark vocal/instrument mode. deep, reflective song.

well
since you're forcing me to, I suppose I'll say something about this wonderful little front-porch number. classic rocketman, meaning unexpectedly moving and little odd all at the same time. I love it.

Come Softly in The Moonlight
Very real ... love the sound of a mando ... it takes me away ... a very enjoyable listen ... makes me long for a warm summer day in a grassy field picking and jamming some tunes.
Cheers

Me thinks the mandolin instantly brings us where the rest of the crazy world can't reach us. You make it sing here.

come softly
so....you got drunk and then mumbled some incoherent lyrics over some patchy mando playing? i can see why it went down well because there's something vaguely interesting in the rawness of it....but seriously....where are your clothes man? you have a basic riff that could work really well, and your vocal energy/delivery is good...engaging. there are timing issues in lots of places and the 'plink plink' of your piece of driftwood with rubber band drawn across it is too apparent and gets in the way of what you (might be) saying. it's not that i care about (or strive for) perfection....but with a little practice this could really shine. 'come softly in the moonlight' is a great hook and it loses its impact because you're not prepared. if you only play 3 chords then go back and perfect them, put some meat on the bones of the lyrics and re-record with more or less the same style of delivery and this really will shine. at the moment, it kinda flickers in places (beautifully, with real soul)....but it needs consistency and effort.
did you wake up with a hangover?
i only comment if i think something has merit. this has tons going for it.

Thanks Julian......
There are on this page some wonderful and dedicated artists....... that being said
It's only Macjams to me... a pleasant place I go to to relive stress..... or laugh...... at any given moment I might put up a drunken 8 hour slur of a tune or 8 seconds...... and out of tune.
But I do appreciate that you can hear more than that and the comment... keep plugging brother.
