Description
I've never been a synthesizer kind of guy but I got some new toys and experimented with Absynth5, FM8, sax lab along with some more organic sounds from the GB library, midi keys and vocals. This is really an experiment with some of the many sounds these plug-ins have. I had fun....
I painted the picture with egg tempera on wood. I thought it went well with the tune...

Dreams almost had an 80s groove and feel, but just a bit too modern to really say 80s. feels great to try out new stuff don't it? even tho you used modern "instruments," you still maintained an earthy feel to the song. good digital/analog marriage.

New toys
you are a seriously talented man, Stan. You establish a real solid groove with those boomy sort of sounds. Good vocal - a nice mix of relaxed and forceful. Super bass at 1:45, after which you do have some fun with atmospheric sounds! Sea and bird sounds towards the end are almost hypnotic. I have to admit I miss a soaring guitar solo, but this is excellent!

Hi Stan.....
This sounds great. Enjoyed your choice of sounds and the arrangement.

The picture does fit, methinks.

Loved the slowed down, different ending.

Take care.

Dream
well Stan, this was a cool experiment! I use saxlab and FM8 sometimes and I'm familiar with absynth, but that one is too organic.
Cool how new sounds inspired you to this fine piece, which is different from your other music, but still very cool
Love the artwork as well, you're a talented man

Your dexterity and abilities to mutitask and adapt are reasons for smiles...synths provide unusual colors to shade unususual statements and feelings..they can be fun no doubt, especially when combined with sounds of natural instruments...enjoy yourself my friend..I enjoyed myself here....:):):)peace

This has a motown feel to it Stan.
I guess it's the drums that kinda set that up. It sure is different for you. Sax is kinda cool. Love the picture too.

Oh yeah I hear some middle eastern and now the vibes.... Lots of different textures. It's good to venture out and experiment. I like this. Thumbs up!

Are you competing with sammydix for who can be the most creative and musically versatile, Stan? This is another genre altogether from you. And, as usual, you just nail it. Great listen! Take care, Peter.

then the dreams came...
Love the lyrics and the chorus melody. The vibe is cool, I agree with one of the earlier posts that it has an 80s vibe to it groove/arrangement-wise. The mix was cool, I liked the reverb you put on everything. Trippy breakdown in the middle! The tension is killer (I kept waiting for the original melody/groove to drop back in at the end). Good use of ambient sounds in GB. anddddd, the painting is rad! Fits the song perfectly!

Big kudos to you for stepping out of your comfort zone (based on your comment on my latest track).

Nice synth work and sounds in here, you should continue to explore in this field in my opinion :) Very strong melody in the chorus and the ending with the seagulls-sound is mesmerizing!

Rattled off over lunch and with one hand, AND blindfolded and without a keyboard. Great tune Stan, very creative in the soundscape and with a catchy vocal. Absynth rules in my book. You could spend a lifetime learning to use all it can do.

Really enjoyed this one.

Doug

Love the painting too. Nice warm cool balance with a restful composition.

Dreamy
I like how you transpose the ordinary by the dream - that is, usually it's reality that interrupts our dreams .. but not here!

Often we take our music too seriously, so it's a good thing to step outside our normal boundaries and let go with experimental play - because something fun like this can pop out of nowhere.
