Taking the Black

This Song Temporarily Offline
Description
My experiments in metal continue, with this piece inspired by the Night's Watch in George R.R. Martin's "Game of Thrones". It seems that metal and the medieval go well together.

The guitar you hear on this is my new Gibson Les Paul - it's satin ebony finish is "more black than black" which seems appropriate.

Play loud and enjoy.

Gibson Les Paul
FAAAAAAAAAAncy. How are you gonna be a garage band punk with that rich man's guitar?

i've been on a metal kick so this fits right in. i like the drive of the rhythm and that 'it's how you face your fear that matters' refrain.

you can take modern man out of the tribe but you can't take the tribe out of modern man. the marines rolled into fallujah to black sabbath because you can't make a war cry heard over mechanized war but you can broadcast a metal band over it. metal pairs so well with the ancient because it's not that far from it. that's my sociological review of the day. As i said before, I like your metal tunes.

Your writing, playing, and singing just keep getting better. I really think you're finding your true voice with these metal tracks.

Great riff and playing with your LP.
I really like the backing box on the 2nd verse, They work really well.
I felt the mix could have done with a bit of working on.
I can't quite put my finger on what though.
It felt like the hi hats and cymbals were a bit high up and had started clipping which was starting to have an effect on the other stuff.
I though the guitars bass and box were all one so maybe it was the drum levels that needed a bit of looking at.
Apart from that a really good rocking track
enjoyed
cheers
