Dream Becomes Reality

Description
This shortened soundscape came about because I'm busy reading 'Dhalgren' by Samuel R Delany. It's a zany sci-fi novel (no surprise there then) about someone who seems to have selective amnesia and who wanders to a place called Dhalgren, where reality is bent from whatever we accept as the 'norm'. I'm a third through the book but find it engrossing and hard to read at the same time. The end of the novel starts the book off.

This is a five or so minute jaunt through the world of Dhalgren through my minds eye, whilst dreaming. Whooseyness is part of the picture.

Another
good mix from you Paul. The low voices are really good. Sometimes these sparse ambient soundscapes can be rather too barren, I think, but you've managed to fill this one without it being too busy. Really nice.

Floating
Certainly a feeling of floating in time and space on this piece, Paul. Sparse but reflectively engaging. Thanks, Peter.

BASSES...
You seem to have at your command the most awesome bass tones around anywhere. I don't exactly know HOW they are so pitch-focused, but they are, and they always drive deep into your land/spacescape to give it a footing. You also always take exquisite time with your shifts in tonality and in the general movement of your compositions. It's as if those galaxies far far away have taken literally billions of years to develop and they have no need for rushing their movement through space or through time. You have such a unique knack for capturing these heavenly movements with such care and precision. Your restraint is always appealing, and is especially so here.

A keeper
Sparse but full, with a nice breathe-like rhythm. Very nice. Thanks for the copy.

Take care,

Less is more
The tonality of this one is exquisite. Quite the dream indeed.

Lovely soundscape wrapped in colours we can't physically see.

Cheers,
Doug
