Description
I've had a lyric block for quite a while now, but I managed a few sentences for this song. I did almost leave it as an instrumental with the synth lead, but changed my mind. Hope you like to dance.... coz it moves at a pace, M

Lyrics
I’ll Search For You

On a dark and lonely night,
All signs of love took flight,
The telephone is silent still.

The nights that kept us close,
Faded like the winter rose,
Our love was like a symphony.

Your face is always in my mind,
I just can’t leave our love behind.

Through misty window panes,
My eyes searched all in vain,
Then i saw you disappear from view,

The footprints in the snow,
Told me all I need to know,
Then I heard the roaring of a train,

Instrument break.

The burning in my heart,
Has been here from the start,
And now i feel it once again.

I’ll come and search for you,
If it takes my whole life through,
Without you all I feel is pain.

We just can’t be apart,
You know it in my heart,
I’ve loved you from the very start.

If it takes my whole life through,
I will come and search for you.

Maurice Vizard April 2012.

Refreshing
Love the dramatic synthy-strings that start the tune off, Moviz. The percussion was totally unexpected after that (even though your description warned of the impending pace)!

This has a really cool mix of styles and influences. It works really well with your very unique vocal style.

The short break at 3:11 struck me as being a really cool little section. At first I was thinking "I wish that went on a little longer", but then I realized that it's one of those elements that is like a tease and makes me want to listen through again.

A unique song that's full of character. Thanks Moviz. This made my day.

Yes my friend, top notch floating throughout.. (on the tippy toes)..a most refreshing and enjoyable ride...this is built for the club, or maybe the club is built for this..like the way the vocals are recorded, they give a live feel, is that a saturation unit? I'm movin', I'm groovin'...Downtown Big Smile City event...:):):)peace

Hi Erin
I guess the 'floating' is referring to the synth that weaves in and out and in the middle instrumental ( love that sound LOL) In the 70's, there would have been a crowd watching me dance to this LOL... the vocal is two tracks with one through the vocal transformer Harmony in GB. Thank you for calling in, cheers M

Well this clips along at quite a pace as you say! It has it's own groove and is unapologetic. There's little bits here and there like kindafishy said where you think it'd be great to have more of but on their own little snippets they're pure gold. Superb stuff sir.

I like the contrast between the intro and the verse, when the percussion kicks in it's effective. With that chugging 4 on the floor it reminds me of disco era tunes. I'm wondering whats going on with that train!

I'm writing while I'm listening and wow! ... powerful opening! The double vocals work well. Very well composed Maurice ... feels, well disco like in many ways or maybe it has that I want to get up and dance feel ... not that I can dance. Great job!
Enjoyed listening.

Electro-Tango
Way cool opening! Totally cool groove. It has an electro-tango feel. In my ears, I think your vocals are a tad too loud, it takes away from the drive of your train groove, which is just so impressive. Nice elegant synth solo. Cool concept, really well done.

Glad you like this overall and I hear what you mean about 'electro-tango' LOL (a new genre maybe). I agree on re-listening, that on this version the vocals are a tad loud. I've done another with just a single vocal track which I think is better balanced. There's a lot to be said (as someone else suggested) for letting (if they will) someone else do the mixing, since your/our ears become numbed after a while. Thank you for calling in, regards M

progressive indie pop. I'm not even sure what to make of it. It's cool, though -- it has a latin jazz feel, with some dubstep-ish elements. This is awesome.

Another side of M.V.
I don't think I've heard this electro-tango-salza from your other work. It always surprises me when I listen to one of your new pieces because you seem to have an endless supply of surprises musically as well as in your lyrics. ... To my ears, the vocal volume is just fine (sorry, Tobin). I'm always trying to hear lyrics, and you always place them clearly out front. Otherwise, what would be the point of having them? ... Great tune and performance, Maurice.

Thanks Paul
for your take on this and for the very kind words (always a big bonus)... with regard to the vocal volume; I think it's because I'm of an age where i see the vocalist stood in front of the 'band' (as it were) and so I try to get that feel, but these days the vocals are sometimes classed like one of the instruments and have equal footing with the rest of the backing. Though that's alright if you're clever in the studio at separating everything; which I'm not. Again Paul, I'm most pleased you called in, cheers M

love the dramatic strings intro and then how it goes into a faster tempo for the start of your vocals, a nice percussive beat with the bass.

very pleased with your words..... yes I wanted a false sense of security with the opening strings and then the clattering train (drumbeat) arrives and we take off into the night.... glad you like the 'sounds' I presume you mean the synth that threads along and then breaks out in the middle break (I'd use that sound in all my songs if I could LOL)... thanks again cheers M

Story teller you are.
First of all, the sound is so full with drama and intrigue. It's like a mystery wrapped in a warm blanket waiting to get read.

The one style of yours that always reminds me of the bands of the 80's is the solo synth that plays on top of the music. Reminiscent of Billy Currie in Ultravox. I love that type of expression, you do it so well.

Anyways, it's always a pleasure to listen to your stories.

Hi Patsy
...and believe me, it's a great pleasure to read your very welcome compliments.... thanks so much. I've never really been a follower of bands, so I wouldn't know about that 80's style (must take a peek on you-tube), though of course things stick in the subconscious, so I probably was influenced in some way by the music of the day..... really pleased with your pianistic attributes that you think it's done well....... much appreciated, regards M
