Description
We were talking some time back about the sort of material we have at our disposal, and there seemed to be a consensus that we were a bit light on straight up dance songs.

So Pete set about writing one.

Based on a Rockabilly drum feel, the song means to represent what goes on in hundreds of Aussie pubs late on a Saturday night when the band is blazing, the punters have had a drink or ten, and the end of the final set is nigh. In other words, classic booze fuelled Aussie Pub Rock !

Pete sings and plays drums
Garry Carson Jones plays the manic guitar and the harp
Kevin Breeze plays the pumping bass.
Neil did all the recording and production work - and handclaps.

Pretty straight forward really.

Pub rock
This should keep the punters happy, Neil. Solid drums, raspy vocal, wild guitars - everything good! I'd applaud, but someone's just bought me a beer!

Oh Yea!! If this doesn't get em on the floor, they don't have a pulse.I just wish you would have used that ending as a bridge somewhere in the middle also, maybe as a little breakdown.Great sound guys.

Perfectly in the face! Raw and infectious, "I can smell the beer" from here sound. Nice mix! Reminds me of the Clash!

On the money
Yep, sounds right on the money, gang. Straight ahead drums, thumping bass, distorted guitars and some howling harp. All the ingredients are there for some trouble in the crowd at the end. Another burbon, mate! Take care all, Peter.

Love the energy and the sweet guitar licks. The verse sets up the chorus really well.

Great rock song
Wow, this is great rock! If I say that this is exactly what we trie to sound like in the sixties, that is meant as a compliment. It's not easy at all to write and play a blues/rock tune that sounds authentic. Just a pity that the singer hides behind the band and too much reverb. You should let him stand up front and take the lead.

Thanks for the comment and the listen. I agree about the vocals being hidden - i would normally have vocals much more front and centre, but Pete gave me very specific instructions to get this effect. He's "old school" regarding how he wants to sound :)
