Mediocre

Description
Done in GarageBand. Bass, semi acoustic and electric guitars. Drums were recorded using a Yamaha DD55 drum pad as a midi controller, mapped to one of GBs kits (one in the percusion jam pack methinks). The drums were played over and over and over and I took the best takes from the 4 'sections' of the song and tidied up the timing in GB. Mixed down as an AAC, loaded back into GB as one track and tweaked using Ozone 3. Voila. An average song.

Lyrics

What have I done to deserve this? There must be something wrong.
I never thought I was one of the good guys, not sure that I belonged.
Never letting my head drop, neither holding it high.
Always afraid of the answers, but never scared to ask "why?"

Break...
Why is it not falling apart? How come it's not falling apart?

Chorus...
It's not the greatest joke in the world, but it might make you smile
Mediocre, average at best - stop me if you've heard it before

Not at home in the centre, the edge is too hard to see.
Always lacking direction. Never drifting and free.
Mostly happily grounded, but with an odd urge to fly.
Never wanting the answers, but always have to ask "why?"

Break...
Chorus...
etc....

Sweet
great little progression. like the concept and the way the chorus lifts up out of the verse into a more pop and less alternative sound - nice surprise. the 'not the greatest joke in the world' line is nice also. thanks for the dl.

More than mediocre
Warm backing - nice tone to the guitars, steady drums. Gentle vocal (I might have brought this a bit more forward in the mix). I like the guitar solo a lot. Clever ending - it did make me smile! Much enjoyed.
