Show Me Some Time

Description
I have had this one sitting around since November. I finally had some time to mix this one today. I think this is the last song I have from my last session. Haven't really picked up an instrument in anger all this year. Sometimes I pick up my wife's classical guitar for fun. (She's learning.)

Guess I've got to get back to some writing and recording. NEED some time and inspiration. Tough combo to come by these days.

There's a little tasty, trippy treat at the end of this. Stay tuned.

Enjoy,
Dave

Lyrics
Show Me Some Time

Now you’re wondering far from home
Thought you might have some place to go
Sit and wonder what might have been
All you’re saying has turned to sin

All these things you say will haunt me
And all those desert tears will fill the sea

Show me some time, make it right
Never learned how to fight
Never learned how to say good-bye

Show me some time, make it right
Never learned how to fight
Never learned how to say good-bye

So much regretting of the things you did
Running around like a little kid
Attitude, hope and dreams have gone away
Walk the straight line till the final day

All these things you say will haunt me
And all those desert tears will fill the sea

Show me some time, make it right
Never learned how to fight
Never learned how to say good-bye

Show me some time, make it right
Never learned how to fight
Never learned how to say good-bye

sitting on the back burner?
sounds like a solid tune to me dave. the last minute of this is way cool.

it does get tougher to feel inspired after several years, but hang in there, you're still coming up with great stuff

Big thanks Vic
Glad you and the other guys are still hanging around, too. And that does, indeed, provide some inspiration.

The last minute is my favorite part, too.

Excellent tune! Love the production and mix. Great live band sound. The trippy ending is very cool. Are those synth sounds in the trippy ending? If so you should explore that side of your music more in the future. Very effective stuff.

I love doing that, but I feel it's a bit self indulgent. So, I just tag those things at the beginning or end of my tunes.

Thanks a bunch Andrew

good stuff
Dave! I really like those "uh uhhhs"! And, here's to you finding time and inspiration! I love the musical bridge? Is that a bridge? I don't know the terminology yet for all this stuff... anyway, I LIKE!

psychedelic
Nice melody and singing... the end part was neat.
Well done arrangement with the synth parts, also like the electric guitar but at 2:17 or so.
Look forward to hearing more LL music ... your stuff is always worthwhile to listen to so I'm sure the inspiration will come once you get some time to listen to what's coming through the "antennas"!

Dreamy
song. I think you were the fifth Beatle, just born a little too late. Of course, you missed out on all that competition, doing this all by yourself. Neat little dreamy ending.

I wished I had a fifth of their money. Born at the wrong time, indeed.

Thanks Char,

Solid structure. Tight playing. Effected vocals remind me of the Beatles. Cool ending.

I dig the vibe
this has a late REM type vibe, but your voice is very much your own. I really like the strings, and the understated guitar. Cool stuff!

cool song
I always like how you use the slapback delay on your vocals (very Lennon). my only nitpick is that the backing tracks are a little quiet. I really want to feel that chunk-chunk-chunk on the choruses. the held melody and that chugging rhythm work well together. I really need to rip off this delay setting from you, so cool. I would also love to hear that wild ending go on for at least another minute or so. it's really cool.

at the 1:30 point - good writing. Excellent overall feel here sweet low lead there in the bridge - well maybe it 's actually the first ending. Love the trippy outro.
