Description
I wrote and recorded this a very long time ago. It is dedicated to my wife who was a victim of child abuse. The song describes a journey we went through together. It is deeply personal and I've been reluctant to post this in the past, but enough time has gone by the time feels right. It may help others to face events from the past that haunt them.

Lyrics
She dreams of freedom in another world.
Dancing on clouds as a little girl.
Sparkling steams come alive in her dreams.
While escaping the pain in some other world.

Abused as a child, she hides from her past.
Alone with her thoughts, hopes that the pain will not last.
Denying the truth, ah the memories of youth.
For this would not be so in some other world.

Opening doors sealed tight so long ago.
Afraid of the truth. Oh it sorts so to know.
Face to your fears. You will win in the end.
Don't give up. You can lean on me my friend...
Lean on me my friend.

This can be your world.
You don't need another world.
In the face the face of that hurt little girl
yo'll find the key to freedom in this world.

This can be your world.
This can be my world too.
This can be our world.
This can be our world.

A beautiful piece of music melded with a powerful message. The arrangement is huge! The synth orchestration backing the guitar solo is awesome! Great vocal!

Great work
I listened to some prog rock lately and I wanted for more, here it is !

Great arrangements, I really like this aspect in your tunes Steve, great stuff.

Very sad subject unfortunately, still it is kind of consolation seeing that time heals.

Great chord choices fit the theme well...Touch of dramatic prog with a poignant message. Heavy topic, done very well.

your instrumentation and voice
remind me of Ayreon's best work. I really love the ambiance, and the mix is just perfect. This should be in stores.

I can see why you might have held back posting something that is so personal and deep but lyrically I think a lot of people could relate. Very nice arrangement ... I like the orchestrated parts against that melodic acoustic. Nice when the the female vocals join. Very well performed.

Hey Steve - this is so nicely put together - its an excellent arrangement, and pretty ambitious! I like how it crecendos at about 4:20, then finishes out with the acoustic - Well done - enjoyed!

Heavy Subject, but powerfully and deftly done. The orchestration was awesome. Loved the changes.

The synth solo was insane (good :-).

Apologies for being late to comment. Difficult subject. Heartbreaking, actually. Sounds like some of the healing has occurred. This music is deep. As are the lyrics. So richly arranged. Conviction around 4:00. Wow, sir. Vocals sound great, including the backup. Unique.

Beautifully intricate
You've exposed a really raw topic in an exquisite setting of wonderful guitar work that is at times mesmerizing (with those bent notes/chords) and thought-provoking strings that alternate between dissonance and perfectly-settled harmony. The build at 3:40 and the following guitar/percussion work is just superb. an awful lot going on here, but all of it flows seamlessly. Beautifully performed, beautifully mixed.

i loved the guitars in this right off the bat--the tone, the chords, the style. the melody made me think of ELP for some reason (because the song doesn't really sound like ELP). guess it's the feel. orchestration is like an exclamation point to the sound. damn, even the mix is great.
