BANK$TER$

Description
This is a tune that originated with Airport Seven - starting with John's bass and structure. I added vocals and in this version I'm playing everything but the drum loops. Guitar - bass - keys.

The LIBOR crimes (scandal is too easy a word)inspired the lyrics. But then it could just as well have been JP Morgan losing billions or the rampant illegal foreclosures. It's hard to keep track.

Recorded fast and loose to be played loud - very loud.

Great title
The whole world is being ripped off by these shysters who appear to be everywhere. However, YOU are the real deal, Bud: rock on hard and true without taking prisoners. Cool track. Just played it on my new Sonos set up so it blasted through the whole house. Wow!

Thaks Paul -
I love how broad your musical appreciation is - that's what's so great about this place and you make it that way. Fuck the shysters! And god bless the musicians.

This
is thrashingly great!I love the half time breaks in the middle and that nasty guitar tone. This is what rock n roll is supposed to sound like!

Thanks Mark
I can't approach the tone and style you bring to the instrument. Thankfully there's rock n roll for the rest of us.

Cool song
This has a real late 60's early 70's Captain Beefheart feel to it: loose but somehow under control.

Whoa Beefheart -
that's really kind. Might be even a little to tight for him - needs more off kilter points - but I appreciate the comparison. Thanks for stopping by.

Man
The way this shit sounds in my cans I can't imagine how it must sound live... the distorted vox is fucking kicking ass!
Q: why the fade out? I think the open ending sounds great too.

bud said 1769 days ago (August 21st, 2012)
Thanks much
We're just working on this as a group - but I think this version will help solidify the masses. Now I just have to figure out how to play piano - rhythm and lead guitar at the same time - while singing.
The fade was unnecessary I guess.

shades of VU in the style. almost mono-ish, but kinda works. one of those tunes that would be great to hear live.

Yeah
I pretty much crammed the space with noise. There is a VU tribute of sorts with the hammered piano that's hard to hear. And a deliberate Iggy ripoff on the vocal treatment. Nice of you to stop by.

Sonic
The intro really took me back to dirty sonic youth. You have the nack for creating great sounds that don't come easy.
Regards
Ed :)

Yah, definitely raw Iggyish.
.. and the fadeout is a metaphor for our economy going down the tubes.
Nice raw crunchy stuff.

Loud
Sounds great Bud.

This is some sincere rock. Love the heavy bass, the wailing lead but your box are what do it for me. I hear the intensity of Iggy Pop.

Great recording. Thanks for always keeping it real.

Bob
