Description
I ran across Movis's Macjam page and loved his voice so I wrote these lyrics for him. I think he did a fantastic job with the music and performance.
Even though the collab is from a couple of years ago, I wanted to post it on my page as well.

Lyrics
Memories of Rose

A broken vase sits on the Knick-Knack Shelf.
Cross-examined by a plastic elf.
-Paul Harvey's on the radio
The Green shag carpet wilted long ago.

I look through dirty glasses at the bottle,
watching as the amber sun goes down
Communing with my usual companions
Rye whiskey and Memories of Rose.

The cuckoo clock still hangs upon the wall
even though the bird no longer calls
-A velvet painting of Clark Gable.
Daisies painted on the kitchen table.

I look through dirty glasses at the bottle,
watching as the amber sun goes down
Communing with my usual companions
Rye whiskey and Memories of Rose.

The Four post bed that came from Sears and Roebuck.
The quilted coverlet on which we'd nap.
-Noxema lingers on the pillows
The moon casts waltzing shadows through the window.

I look through dirty glasses at the bottle,
watching as the amber sun goes down
Communing with my usual companions
Rye whiskey and Memories of Rose.

I simply
have to be a fan of this song Dave.... always loved the lyrics (you're very good at this) and I like the way it turned out, because for me it was very experimental to make music from anothers' words, cheers M

Thank you, Mo.
But the lyrics were just ones and zeros on a hard drive until you breathed life into them. Kind of like Boris Karloff :-)

Rose
Nice stuff. Apart from the last note the backing vocals can almost pass for real. Subtle guitar work. Eh, not so subtle drum. I'd push that back a little.

But it's a sweet tune and well sung.

Memories of Rose
I like this. It has a 60's vibe but with some more contemporary fills. Nice vocal work, Maurice. Good arrangement and mix. Regards, Peter.

I find it interesting
that noone has commented on the break in rhyme pattern in the third verse.
Nap does not ryhme with Roebuck :-)
