Lyrics
you can avoid this or that
you win time while it recalls
it builds for you a new way to follow
though you can not avoid the sorrow
maybe you choose the when
but you don’t decide the what
maybe you choose the trains
but you don’t design the rails

[chorus]
you couldn't hide away
they will find you anyway
so don’t avoid the fight
pick your battles and be ready to die
don’t avoid the fight

you can spend your own time
just watching without interaction
but late or soon life gets you into scene
it loves troubles, that is a clear fact
maybe you choose the way
but you can’t prevent the changes
maybe you move the sail
but you can’t control the wind

[chorus]
you couldn't hide away
they will find you anyway
so don’t avoid the fight
pick your battles and be ready to die
don’t avoid the fight

Pick Your Battles
This is excellent! Good song, strong vocal, all the instruments add something. Now come on Freddy, is there an instrument you can't play? I don't think I've heard you on harmonica before, and here you are sounding great! I am seriously impressed by this one!

Hi Stan
Thanks. I actually liked the idea of the distortion on the harp, but there are already two heavy rock guitars with tons of distortion, so I decided I wanted it to contrast. It's in danger of too much distortion even now. Especially when it gets to the top of the buildup. And that is the ONLY reason I didn't go with your suggestion. As a matter of fact everything you said to me made good sense. But I had my reasons. Glad you liked it. I tried to get more of Mike in there, because i actually agreed with your feedback about that. He gave me some as you heard, but Mike is not one to show off without some pushing. I have been telling him I want MORE of him in the mixes, and you echoed that thought too when we spoke. Yeah when you give feedback Stan it usually makes good sense. So you gotta know I was strongly considering everything you've said. I am thinking we'll insert another player on this page with updated mix(s) because there is still some discussion. Thanks Stan and everyone!

Fine post, guys. You three sound like you have been playing together for years on this. It has a road-honed, in-your-face, barroom groove but it is still very much pro sounding. Damn fine! Regards, Peter.

I really like the updated mix
Thanks for Freddy and Nacho. You guys are awesome musicians!
My favorite part in the song is the piano. My ear follows that catchy rag-time style. It really adds a ton to the song.
Nacho, your vocals are fantastic! You really tore it up on this one.
Thanks guys for being patient and letting me tighten up my rythm guitar part. That really helped a lot.
This is the tightest endeavor so far. I agree that it sounds like we've been playing together for many years. This song has a natural flow that makes it so easy to follow and for the ear to listen as well.

Thanks again for letting me play along. :D

Battles
Ok, this sounds really great. My only nit is that the sequence of solos at 1:40 is a bit confused. 4 measures? 8? joint solos? I'm sure all the musicians are up to doing a full chorus.

Pro sounding track. I like the vocals/harmonies. Guitar is perfect for this type of song. Harp sounds like Blues Traveler. Mix is spot on. Two thumbs up.

This is not the sort of songs I use to do. But I swear I had a blast singing this!. For me one of the best part is that one that starts with that spectacular harp, amazing. Thanks band, and thanks to everyone for listening and for your always wise advices.

Pick Your Battles
I like the harmony vocals in the chorus, especially the sentence "Don't avoid the fight" really really well done. The harmonica is another highlight in this rock song, which really rocks and the electric lead is great as well. And it helps to have Fred on Drums :) for a Rock Song, thumps up!
