Emma (davisamerica rexmix) HALLOWEEN 2012

Description
A few years ago Jack (davisamerica) posted the excellently creepy tune Emma and it sparked a whole slew of Emmas. I meant to get in on the fun at the time, but I never finished it. This year, however, as Halloween approached, I dusted what I'd done off, threw it out and started all over again as a submission for this year's Halloween Challenge.

I decided I wanted a orchestral approach, big and lush, and I managed to get it pretty much how I wanted. Most of what you'll hear is Jack's original tune, restructured and revoked, with a few things thrown in for good measure.

And if you're interested in more Emma tun age, for the 2010 Halloween Challenge, Jack and I teamed up with alannah for a sequel, of sorts, called

What?
No comments, yet? I listened to this yesterday and loved it. It made me sorry that missed the other Emmas that you speak of, and also missed Jacks original. Shame on me! Your vocals are fantastic! They are so smooth they almost don't fit the eerie sounds in the production. Did I say I love this?

Nice reincarnation ;)
Nicely arranged and performed. "A whole slew of Emmas" sounds vaguely scary!
Cheers from Oz,

Emma
I still like it when Charles' version of Emma comes around on the iPod playlist, Joe. This low-key version sits very comfortably along side it. The arrangement is really good. You have done a fine job. Regards, Peter.

well..well..well
so glad you took emma out. Halloween always makes her antsy and it is good to divert her energy into "other things". Lovely track Joe. I was so pleased when you told me you were going to do this. Lush indeed. Great orchestration and totally cool track indeed.

Perfect
Man strikes just the right tone. So spooky. But in a cool, meaningful way. Could be a song on the Nightmare Before Christmas or Corpse's Bride soundtrack. Love the accordion so much.

Nice.
I feel like i've heard the intro composition in a few horror flicks. Very appropriate sound. Nice atmosphere.

Mood +
I didn't hear the original before tonight but this one is a fabulous minimal orchestration that shows less is more, enriched by a great mix. The distant piano, the strings, flutes and menacing low strings make this creepy without the melodic line. The vocal is well sung with just the right emotion to set the scene. A worthy cover of a powerful song.
