Description
I'm surprised I never uploaded this before - this is a successful composition of mine - for it, I was awarded the Young Composer of the Gulf 2009 title. This recording features Jordan Black on clarinet, John Hewitt-Jones on viola and Thalia Myers on Piano, and was recorded at the RCM in London in March 2009.

A somewhat mournful mood to begin, then some sprightliness around 1:30. Interesting interplay between the instruments. Good light and shade in the piece - just when there seems to be getting too much happening, you strip it back and rebuild. Good one!

Listened twice, better the second time as I could hear more. Good mix.

Thanks for the download.

How wonderful to have a composition played
This is a fine work with lots of emotion and energy throughout. It's an interesting choice of instruments as well, with the clarinet and cello able to be both bright as well as mournful. Lovely contrasts in tone and movement that you've created. This is most inspired and I can understand how it won an award. (The performances were also very well done too BTW :) Thanks for allowing downloads!

Cheers,
Doug
