Description
My next door neighbor joins me on this Rodgers and Hart song.

Sorry I've been absent in song lately. My partner and I are getting prepared to move to Birmingham Alabama where he's accepted a position with his law firm's new offices there, I quit my job so I could get things packed way, our computer had one of the worst crashes since the infamous Indy 500 of 1953, got the PC up and running but can't work the mic now--but it's all good really!

Anyway, hope you enjoy our little romp--thank you Donna and thank you folks for listening!

PS: I'd have included some much-needed artwork for this thing, but yanno, you enter the words "The Lady is Tramp" in Google and you get about 529 images unsuitable for family viewing and about 32 pictures of Tony Bennett (?!!!)

Take care now,

Michael

Lady is a Tramp
Sparkling backing (is that Mr McPike again?) and your usual full-of-energy and joy vocal. The addition of your neighbour and the way you work together makes it even more interesting. Absolutely delightful. And good luck with the move!

It's been a long time
and it's a return in style!

Kudos to the neighbour (I've heard mine singing in the shower and it's more Halloween than Hollywood)

Good luck in the move and I look forward to the next post from Birmingham ;-)

Cheers

Dick

You were born to sing this Michael.
Just finished Rodgers' autobio and it was fun reading about how he and Hart worked together. Rodgers usually wrote the melody first and Hart would roll out of bed sober up and write some genius lyrics. They were an amazing team. Two opposites who together made magic and so is this Michael. Just magic.
Cheers,
Charlie

Oh ya, this is what the genre is all about when we get to hear it from your pipes. You have the bounce, the pizzazz, but what I like best is that you have a great sense of humour under all that class and skill. That's what really makes your vocals shine for me Michael.

This was a fun romp and having a second voice along for the ride is all the more interesting. Keep them coming my friend. I could listen to this style for days...

Be well,
Doug

Oh, thank you.
I've been waiting for a new MJK performance. This one is right up there with your very best. Glad that your voice is better. (weren't you having some trouble a while ago?) You have such a gift in being able to sing this kind of music. You give it such life and such a nuanced understanding of phrasing and such. ... And your collaborator here does a great job, too, especially when the two of you are duetting. (I made that word up.). I hope the move to Alabama goes well and that you are back in commission singing and dancing on a regular basis. This is a wonderful post that I thoroughly enjoyed.
