Description
This mix has a full title of 'Devil's Cloven Hoof Dance' and was supposed to be ready yesterday, but I only started/finished it today. Oh well. It's the thought that counts.

It's a little different to many of my mixes but hopefully it has something that will both draw the listener in and appeal to that same listener until the end (which is just over eight and a half minutes coming).

There may be more of these as time passes by.

Different
But I like it. It may be electronic but the bass and some FXs make it more "real" somehow. Looking forward to more in the same vein :-)

Take care,
Henke

Hi Henke.....
I don't know how soon another mix will come along that is similar in effect to this piece. To me this is a tangential mix, and therefore not as easy to put together for me.

Take care.

Dance
This works well on my system - clean crisp and with more of a stabby quality than your flowing pieces, which makes for an interesting departure.

Creatively done as usual, and thanks for the dload.

Hi Doug.....
My idea was in putting together the sounds to make it appear that the old Devil himself was jumping and dancing around in glee, over something quite horrific to normal human beings. The plucky nature of the piece is the effect I wanted.

Glad you found it interesting.

Take care.

Do I hear...
...the start of a melody? Oh, no! Yep. There it is again...and again...and... That little tuba-sounding motif could be the start of something big, Paul. You wouldn't be leaning to the dark side, now would you? ... I echo Doug's take on the punctuated nature of this work which departs from your epic land/space scapes in a major way. I am always on the lookout for a melody (as you must know(, so I'd encourage you to let your inner tunesmith emerge. ... This is such a good piece as is, however, filled with your precise care in mixing it.

Hi Paul....
A melody of sorts. A motif, more in keeping with my original idea, as I mentioned to Doug, above.

My next piece is more choral, but in a sustained, melodic way. (I hope).

My inner tunesmith teases me no end. Sometimes I get the better of it but mostly I finish up with a compromise.

Take care.

I am always impressed how you translate your ideas to music, Paul. Listening to this I formed the impression that subliminal messages were somehow hidden in the music and the occasional piercing tone was designed to cement them in the sub-conscious :-) Intriguing and engaging. Thanks, Peter.

Hi Peter....
Subliminal messages. No. Cementing them into the sub-conscious with the piercing tones, maybe. Haha. The effect I had in mind was one of the piercing tones bringing the listener back to reality and then allowing them to relax into the music and then the jarring again, etcetera, etcetera.....

Take care.
