This piece is dedicated to Amanda Todd the young 15 year old girl who took her own life after years of being bullied and harassed on social media. When I first heard the story I was saddened and disturbed. Then I saw a video she posted on you tube tears came quickly as shock set in. I was going to do a sad poignant tune, instead in keeping with her age I did a more contemporary track in a Pop vane....The track is in celebration of her short troubled life...

When someone cry's out for help, are you there ? It's our responsibility to be there.

A tragic story...
and leaves one both sad and angry--there is no need for it to come to this. I'm all for closing down FaceBook and the rest of them if that's what needs to be done. You know Dave, having had a more than crappy life during my teenage years and listening to this as if I were that age again, you really captured it, and without needing to make it mournful (although that ending shook me up). It rather struck me as a teenager picking herself back up and being knocked down again, which I think is the theme here, and then of course lacking the strength to do it again. I think this is a highly effective composition in conveying what emotions were intended and you did it brilliantly utilizing a "pop" sound, which makes it even more effective. Thanks for the fine work--and hey, good to see (and hear!) you again Dave! Take care now, Michael (PS: I'm moving to Alabama in a few months--no more subarctic temps for me!)

Sad story, Shadowman. One that is repeated all round the world, unfortunately. Your "pop" approach is thoughtful and sensitive to the emotion of the story. Congratulations. Regards, Peter.

Bullying and harassment has to be stopped! But how? That is the question. This piece hits hard! I can hear the hard hits of repeatedly being bullied in the hard hitting drums. And I can hear her tearful pleas for help in the quiet piano passages, going unheard. You captured the tragedy of this story in sounds! Amazing.

This sad
bullying phenomenon is all down to parents; if kids were brought up with the right sensibilities and sensitivity, no amount of so called 'pier pressure' would win them over, they would just 'know' what's right and wrong. I too was Bullied by cowards, but it only needed me to almost break one guys jaw as I smacked him so hard it brought tears to his eyes in front of his friends, then it all stopped.... I was lucky of course.
A really good piece here Dave and you did right to do it in this vain, regards M

Tragic story, unfortunately a very common story in today's society. Terrific composition, dynamically poignant. Excellent!
