Description
The idea behind this mix is one of a huge choir singing praises, and as a backdrop to a film scene where other life forms approach (and have obviously been detected).

It's a tad over ten minutes and probably needs some limiting but here ir is......

Love the ethereal quality you've created
First off, for some reason my iPhone only brings down 5:34 worth of your opus so when I can get to my computer I'll have a listen to the whole thing. My impression so far is that this soundscape is marvelous, and your selection or creation (?) of these patches to make them evolve in this way is very cool. You say there are only 3 instances of Zebra, and that sounds pretty light for the amount you have going on.

Some of your previous work has lights that come and go, ebb and flow. This is like a celestial choir bathed in light although I feel that the colours change between various off-white shades.

Lovely work Paul. Thanks for the dload!
Doug

Hi Doug.......
I only used these patches (from the Zebra 2 Hybrid collection). I rarely make patches and use them. Mostly make them, forget about them.

There was one instance of Diva, a monster synth from the same designer as Zebra 2. This synth takes a great deal to calm it, so I rarely use it in my mixes.

The ethereal quality is, probably, done with the echo/reverb units on each stereo pair output, before the final mixdown.

Some more, in the vein, to follow.

Take care.

They Came
I had to change the browser (Firefox instead of Safari) to post a comment on your song.
Very atmospheric and impressive !
Excellent work... :)

Hi Harald....
Firefox is the same basic engine as Safari, so that seems strange. Mmm.

I went for the epic sound. I thought that you might like to power behind this mix. Thanks for persisting with the web browsers.

Take care.

This is great
I just want to lie down on my bed and close my eyes and float away... Just enough variation to keep interest but very soothing, dreamy, even ethereal as Doug said.

Yeah, it has to come down on my hard drive for future musing, thank you very much!

Take care,
Henke

Hi Henke.....
Ethereal and soothing. Hopefully my newest upload will be even more soothing for you to listen to.

It is just an experimental phase I'm going through with echo, delay. Bryn triggered my interest in this a couple of years ago, with his Frippertronic experiments.

Take care.

Your 'Walking On Air' is, together with the NASA video, an EPIC!!

Take care.

No Limits
It si good to see someone ignoring the "three_and_a_half_minute" threshold in our head.
Nice work.
Thank you for sharing!

Hi Bernd....
It's good to see you around and composing again, here on Macjams. I hope everything is OK with you and your life.

I tend to longer pieces. I think it's the nature of the Ambient music genre to be lengthier than most other music, maybe with the exception of Classical. Maybe.

Take care.
