Description
This mix came about through the discovery of an Earth-like planet candidate a couple of weeks ago, and my impressions of what type of soundscape would be most descriptive of the flaura/fauna that may be there.

Eight minutes thirty eight seconds of mystery and imagination.

Nice
Another dreamy soundscape for my chill out playlist.
It has a "hovering touch". I think perhaps everything has to fly on this planet... But wait, if I remember correctly, gravity is much stronger on this discovered planet :-)
Thanks for sharing!
Take care,
Bernd

Hi Bernd.....
Thanks for stopping by to listen. It's good to know that you've been tripping to my soundscape.

You're correct, the gravity would be more but this is 'hovering' in the imagination.

Take care.

Reminds me
of that shot from Avatar where the transport craft are initially heading to the base through clouds where forests appear in the mists. This one has a larger feel, like it's a giant with all kinds of Roger Dean-esque plants and landforms in a purple misty gaseous atmosphere. Now at about 3:00 the higher synths remind me of some flying creatures making their way through the dense atmosphere, soaring from behind us as we make our way through the low clouds. After 6:00 I feel the presence of enormous gas bag beings that hover with a slight rippling motion down their sides, looking like dark clouds with diffuse outlines.

This was very cool Paul. A lovely and unique collection of sounds skillfully blended with the patience of a saint. Dloaded (of course!) with appreciation.

Cheers,
Doug

Hi Doug....
Avatar. What a film. I was adicted to watching it over and over, for the animation as well as the music. The picture you build up is very, very good, and helps me to listen 'from a different point of view' to my own, so there's a bonus too. The Roger Dean ideas are a bonus, and I can see, too, the old Yes album covers from the seventies.

Thanks for the kind words.

Take care.

It is rather slow (not a bad thing)
and this perhaps reflects the heavier gravity. I picture birds (of some sort) flying in slow motion, or hexapeds (?) cantering across the steppes, or even leviathans swimming ponderously (?!) -- sorry, I'm getting carried away ;-) Another lovely, gentle listen Paul. Thanks.

Hi Richard....
Hexapeds sounds just what I had in mind. Haha. My mind is boggling with the picture your words magic into my minds eye. Leviathans too sound marvelous, lile the old brontosauri or the ichthysausi of our earlier times.

Take care.

If there is
stronger gravity then the sentient beings are ponderous and 8 feet tall. They sing instead of talk and they love to swim in the purplish water of rivers and lakes. The wind whistles through the tree tops and thunders through the mountain passes. So lovely, I could listen for twice as long. Thanks.

Hi Demeter....
Your comments above give me yet another scene to put to music, in the same vein as this. There is already and Earth Two #2, that I did straight after the original, so that may appear soon.

The picture that you've woven in my mind with your words is working overtime at the moment, now where is that synth....

Take care Miss C...

Earth Two
Enjoyed this very much! Very flaura/fauna-esque indeed. Great mix, especially the bass overtones in here is impressive.

Hi aRcTip....
I'm happy that you're happy with how this mix turned out. I enjoy putting together this type of mix every now and again. I usually call them 'Sunrise on....' some planet or other.

I miss hearing the bass, as my hearing falls off before the lower tones have any effect, so I hear the low sounds through physical vibration of something and tend to concentrate only on the pulse and not the shape of the sound.

Take care.

Earth Two
The scientists used to talk about how unique our planet is. They weren't even sure if there were planets outside our solar system. Now, it seems that there are probably numerous planets in the "Goldilocks Zone," potentially capable of supporting life. I love this topic and I love this music. Excellent soundscape for imagining what is probably out there.

Hi....
All your comments about other planets and our scientists ideas about them are now more reasonable in a none 'we are alone' way.

I'm glad you enjoyed the listen.

Take care.

Your music...
...is, simply, for the planets, Paul. There is such a mysterious and delicate quality to your work, every inch of the terrain meticulously shaded and shaped, as though you are actually seeing it and feeling it yourself. Through your deft handling of the musical elements, you somehow always bring your subject into clear view with an almost palpable realism. This particular piece is one of your most gentle (from my memory) and, for that reason, maybe the most filled with promise and...and...LIFE. You have been able to take us/me to these places through the mystery of sound that shapes the pictures you are trying to create. Marvelous work, Paul. Bows to the master.

Hi Paul....
I can either work from an idea to the musical soundscape being created or simply build up layers to put together whatever my imagination hears as I go along. Either way a very similar arrangement of three or four 'elements' is created and mixed to produce the soundscape to fit the picture or the soundscape produces the imaginary graphic collage that then springs forth the title.

Take care.

Hi Patty.....
I'll have to listen to this again, as I lose track of soundscapes when I'm putting together the next one. I may then put the second 'Earth Two' soundscape on Macjams. They are oh so subtley different in content.

Take care.

Paul

Earth Two
Your works are testament to the imagination and skill of the human inhabitants of earth, Paul. I wonder if there are beings on another planet dreaming of galaxies other than their own, and creating communicative works, perhaps in another frequency spectrum? Fine mix. Atmospheric and intriguing. Regards, Peter.

Hi Peter....
Your 'Cabin Fever' is perfect. I'm going to listen to it again in a short while.

The words you put together in your comment are so evocative. I'll be thinking about this for a while now you've pointed me towards this idea. Thank you indeed.

Take care.
