Description
because of my wandering and i suppose searching my brother in-law started calling me little lost boy. i think he still calls me that.
again, influenced by the books i am reading. telling a story from the past. my travels at 17. what that might feel like now.a story i stopped telling years ago because it was starting to sound like the only story i had. not true but, people love a good story. anyway, influenced by common ground with those close to me i am starting to form a musical history. see how that works.

Lyrics
well i take
ya i take to the road
Cross the prairie in the winter
and i am Standing in the snow
Waiting for a ride
I can hear that whistle blow
I can hear that whistle blow
All up inside

I wrote a lot of letters
In broken down old cars
and The Painted Desert in the morning
like a thousand big guitars

i am dreaming about a freight car
Takes me all the way to the coast
i take my chances darling
with jack and neil and the ghost

the garden is at its peak
and the river is flowing backwards
i take a giant leap or maybe i just fall

travel light in the morning
pick up a ride in the afternoon
watch the sky its bleeding
as the sun goes down
little changes make all the difference
one degree is all it takes
and i am shaking my head
and i am shaking my head at my beautiful mistakes ,

well my father dug a hole
my mother filled it in
i left home real early
Where should i begin

Don't tell me you don't like to watch the road
Disappear in the mirror behind you
I've seen that look in your eyes
Always look forward before you look back
Not a cloud in the sky
I’m only 17
it is a lost boys dream
Oh yeah oh yeah
There are some things , so many things, I left behind

on the Range of emotion
Trying to hitch a ride
vie never seen anything like what vie seen this morning
Not a cloud in the sky
I’m only 17
Not a cloud in the sky
it is a lost boys dream

another goodie
As usual you've penned a heartfelt tune. Good job. I think there are some things you could do with the mix to help the delivery. I'll send you a note.

Lost boy
Diggin the autobiographical nature of this. The guitar is sounding personal and the lyrics ring thru the soul. Could hear this on one of those singer/songwriter venues that gives everyone that warm feelin like they are sharing some secret.
This reminds me of the night I slept in the laundromat in Mexia, Texas. Which I have always threatened to write a song about .... hmmmm

Lost & Found...
Thanx for the heads up, Bud. Always love the way your mind works when it comes to lyrics and poetic constructs.... you have a true gift for cutting through the pretense and protection of bone to the complex truths hidden in the sheltered and shadowed recesses of the human heart stripped naked of ego ~ the place where truth can't hide, where understanding and empathy begin, the only place we find the capacity for true forgiveness, and can begin to source our lives out of love and not fear. Blah blah blah.... way too existential and full of belly button lint, Noh? LOL but still... Ahhhh Life! What paradoxical and relentless roundhouse kicks to the ~ solar plexis...... : ) Anyhoo, loved it ~ Kudos T McF P.S. What happened to my favorite song about your little boy in the playground? I know it has been what? Maybe 5 yrs. but it was one of your best. : )

A very fine song, Tim. Lyrically outstanding and the arrangement is first class. The mix is really good. Sounded great through my 'phones. The acoustic is so well recorded. Memorable post! Thanks, Peter.

Wandering in the labyrinth

Perhaps it is only later .. after we have wandered around seemingly forever lost in the labyrinth of life .. that we discover we have finally settled down enough and can now write about those times with a deeper awareness. Your ability to capture the feel of the moment is amazing here. I really like how you mix singing and story-telling. And the painting is a nice pairing - it's a perfect visual for this sonic piece.

Sweet acoustic riffs and harmonies drive this homage to the American road. Strong imagery in the lyric. Well done!
