A Taste of Dark-ness (A Dark Ambient Mix)

This mix is number two of a small series that I am currently putting together and based on watching the film 'The Dark Knight Rises', a Batman film. I preferred the music to the last film in the series than this soundtrack, which sounds bland and tame (to me).

The themes I bring to life are dark and scary. Not my usual stuff and maybe put together a different way too. The listening is not easy.

There are currently two intro pieces, each three minutes in length, and one piece that is eleven or so minutes, which will all be uploaded over the next couple of weeks. Not exactly Xmas cheer but what the hell.

Hi Kenta.....
I'm happy that the music had the desired effect. Don't forget you can have the light on whilst listening, to see who's there.

Take care.

Very dark and moody.
Very successful this, it seems completely soundtrack ready. I got ideas for a computer animation just listening to it, sadly I don't have the resources to make that animation. Still it was nice to get that inspiration just from listening to your work.

Thanks everso for the nice words. They made my day. The pieces will all be here, including this one, when anyone wants to use them. I'm OK with that.

Thanks for stopping by to listen and comment.

Take care.

But very melodic. I sense a change of direction in your latest works Paul. All good! I really like this mix and am looking forward to hearing the other two pieces in the set.

Hi Dave.....
This melodic thing is much too over rated!! Haha. It crept up on me and so I used it. Sometimes the presets I use have a component that is activated by the treble notes in my sequences, in spite of me not writing with a specific melody in mind these days. Chord sequences do it for me at the moment.

Take care.

Hi Alannah.....
Great to have you stop by to listen. All the good words I could wish for about one of my mixes.

Take care.

I was watching a video of Hans Zimmer discussing his search for a really edgy dark sound to represent the Joker. He could have saved a ton of time and just given you a call.

And is that an electric guitar I hear in the background here or are you playing games with my mind??

Great track Paul (I should just hire a parrot: "another great track Paul... skwaaaawk!"). But it is true, you have a touch with these things to coax out sounds that I have never heard before.

Looking forward to your next in the series!

Hi Doug.....
Hans Zimmer features a lot on my ipod albums. I'd be happy to take his call, any time.

The guitar-like sound is not me or even a guitar. It's a preset through Zebra 2. I'll have another listen andcheck my working folder to see if I can identify it more exactly.

Take care.
