Description
In 2008 Notsosweet posted a version of Silent Night (http://www.macjams.com/song/48370) .... I have messaged her a few times about singing on it ... to my knowledge she has not read these messages as I believe she is not as active here now .... I thought I would take a chance and post this version and hope that she does not mind. If I am asked to remove it .. I will ... Happy Festivus ! p.s. I accidentally deleted the ending of one of the vocal tracks .. and have since gotten a new computer and no matter what I did I just could not seem to capture the same sound when attempting to re-record the new ending ... so I just ended up with this hokey ending thing ... hope it doesn't detract too much from the tune ....

Lyrics
Silent night
Holy night
All is calm
All is bright
Round yon virgin
Mother and Child
Holy infant
So tender and mild
Sleep in heavenly peace
Sleep in heavenly peace

Silent night
Holy night
Shepherds quake
At the sight
Glory streams
From heaven afar
Heavenly hosts
Sing alleluia
Christ the Savior is born
Christ the Savior is born

Thanks Sheila ....
... yes today was surely a tragedy that no one will ever forget ... makes it so much harder when these things happen at Christmas time ... a time when people are supposed to love one another ... it must be just so devastating for those families who lost their precious little lambs .... I can't even conceive of it ..... there just are no words ....

Thanks Alackbass ....
.... I prefer the old fashioned original Christmas carols to the newer commercialized ones .... there might be one or two more up my sleeve to come ... if not this year .. then definitely next year.

Silent Night
Hauntingly beautiful rendition, Alannah.

Thanks so much ....
... you know me ... I am always looking for the "haunting" in most things that I do ... (with the exception of my crazy banshee metal moments heh heh) .. but that probably haunts a few people too ... just in a different way !

Quiet
Like this combination a lot. The spare piano and your voice work well. Thanks

Thanks peacepiano ...
Christmas carols have always been the most difficult thing for me to sing ... usually because the key is set way to high for my voice ... when I heard this piano rendition I thought .. hmmmm I might be able to do this key .....

Thanks J ....
... like I mentioned earlier ... I usually have a very hard time with Christmas Carols because most of them are in a key which I find too high for my voice ... but I do still like them .... and messing about is fun !

Beautifully sung.
Somehow I missed this on the day it was posted; I've had a busy time lately I guess. Still that singing is lovely, and goes well with the gentle, sparse piano playing. Well done both participants I'd say.

Wow, Alannah! You have amazing control on this piece. I don't think I've ever heard such a soulful rendition of this song before. Nothing contrived about it, and I LOVE the transient voices peeking out from the back of the mix. I'm not a fan of Christmas songs in general, but you did a fantastic job on this. Thanks for posting.

Thanks Corp !
... As I mentioned above ... I'm not usually one to sing a lot of Christmas tunes myself because they tend to be way out of my key or range or something ... but there was something that attracted me to this piano piece that made me do it ! Thanks for the support and homage !
