Description
Distrans is the practise of implanting a message/memory into another lifeform and was originated (I believe) in the the Dune novels of Frank Herbert. Different groups of Fremen passed messages to each other with bats bred specially for the job. The Tleilaxu dwarf, Bijaz, also had a message for Paul.

I like to think that if there is/was/should be a God, who developed us as a prototype, that he implanted the messages of life in the DNA we all, as biological contructs, carry around but yet understand so little of. Perhaps if we were all just a little bit more patient with both ourselves and others and kept a more Zen-like attitude, then we could play out a more harmonious existence. Yes/No?

Maybe future AI/AE developments might work on a Logical Buddhism, but without the pantheon of long dead characters attached, to program the developing sentience with. The three (or more) Laws of Robotics would then be unneccessary as the harming of any other thing is enshrined into the Buddhist Worldview.

It's hard to answer your question(s) cos it's so many different answers. We all have an open mind and thus follows its appearance. I don't know if I have right but it is my thinking about it.

Anyway nice mediative track, thanks for this one, peace.

Hi Kenta....
You are correct. There are so many different answers and each of them is correct in it's own context. That is why AI/AE philosophy (for want of a better word) is so rich and varied and needs to be worked on from all different angles.

Take care.

entrancing distrans Paul... very descriptive of a peaceful equilibrium. It seems to me, the way things are right now, there are too many people with out a Zen-like attitude who are intentionally disruption the DNA codes...so I do hope that the messages within them can still be conveyed to us. I am not familiar with the Laws of Robotics, but it did occur to me last night the profound implications involved that are expressed in the Hippocratic Oath... "First, Do No Harm"....to anyone (or anything):..

Hi Linda....
Profound words, and so true. The 3 Laws of Robotics was originated by Isaac Asimov, many years ago. I rarely think of them because there are less menacing ways of looking at AI/AE development and behaviour.

Take care.

And the message is...
Peace, Love and Harmony. I can dig it but, seriously, don't you think there are a few ashpoles out there that should be put down, humanely or otherwise? Then the problem is, who gets to decide?
Well Paul, you keep on doing what you do and, with any luck, you'll keep me somewhat sedated so I don't act out any un-Zen-like fantasies ;-)

Hi Richard......
You've hit the nail on the head there. Who gets to decide. Talk about casting the first stone. So many folks as judge and jury when their decision is pure emotion with no brain involved.

Take care.

I have the sense with this of giant sonorous gongs in the monastery of the universe. Beautiful mix that despite being peaceful and unruffling is actually quite awake. Logical Buddhism is an interesting perspective. To me, it doesn't matter who said what in recorded teachings if the behaviour we come to realise and embody actually works for the benefit of ourselves and other beings.

If your music helps those who hear it to be more mindful of what is really going on around us on a more continuous basis so that we can use that information to make better choices then that, to me, is a very good thing.

Lovely work again Paul with a fresh set of tonalities, and a thoughtful artistic statement as well. Downloaded with thanks,
Doug

Hi Doug....
Your ideas about the sounscape are once again evocative. I'm there, in suspension, above the monastery of the universe. Taking it all in and breathing out real slow.........

Take care.

Hi Stan......
The ideas are my free time work, expanding the thought to try to put something more coherent together. It's a pet project of mine these last few years. The soundscapes are an off-shoot of these ideas.

Glad you could stop by to listen.

Take care.
