A Bell in the Valley

Description
After choir rehearsal, I talked to my neighbour O'Shaunessy about the hymn "A Bell in the Valley". He came over with his box of tin whistles, and together we played this in to the Victrola "home recording model".

With my regards to mr Bill Grundmann for writing such an inspired tune.

The score can be found here

A bell in the valley
Ethereal version. The breathy tones work very well for this lovely piece of music. The intertwining of the instruments makes it all the more interesting. Beautiful work. It should be ringing out from the tower in the picture you have chosen.

Choir rehearsal? Do you sing too, or did you mean your neighbo(u)r's rehearsal. Very pretty. Talent on display, both you and Bill.

Amazing.
An intimate interpretation of a lovely tune, extremely thoughtfully arranged. Great work, very expressive and not many people could have done this at all, never mind this well.

Such a calming number...
The "tin whistles" speak with such warmth you've both played them with care...That little melody that spins out around 1:20 is just so beautiful and peaceful. I don't know if you've written any of this down, but, if so, I would love to try my hand arranging it for pipe organ. Oh, I love 2:20 and following when you pick up the tempo. These beautiful winds just sing with such pleasant voices. It is impossible to not be inspired by them, as you surely were and are. This is just beautiful. Thank you for letting us hear it.

Good job here!
I love Bill's carol and this is a very nice take on the "bell" carol. I like the change up at 2:20. Reminiscent of a calliope. Also has Bach-ian underpinnings. Very nice!

After a day's work in the fields I enjoy playing the pump organ. Some of it pleases my wife Dotty, and some of it pleases the neighbours. I hope it may please you too.... [see more]
