Description
Yeah, I know, I could hardly write something more different to my last upload if I tried; I don't cultivate this variety, it's just what flows out, honest. If you've no idea what I'm on about then after listening to this try my last one, "Ritual Dance"...

Not sure where this came from, it started as a simple mess about with some of the excellent synths I have, and some practise using my Korg keyboard (no I'm not that fast, I played "those" runs at at one eighth speed to get them in). It's in A-Minor for anyone wondering. Korg M1 soft-synth, TAL U-No-62 and some user set versions of the GarageBand built in synths. Reverb was a plug-in, can't remember where it came from but it's a lot better than the default GarageBand reverb which I always switch off rather than trying to adjust.

Energy Accumulator
re: "I don't cultivate this variety, it's just what flows out, honest." That's what I'm enjoying about this piece. Rich sound. Summons good energy and for me keeps it going the whole three minutes. Good walking tune. Thanks for dl!

It was fun to write...
...so I'm very glad it was fun to listen to. I recently heard a great synth track on MacJams and was inspired to install some of the many decent synths I have and start playing around today. This track is probably just the first to emerge from playing around with them. Thanks for listening and letting me know you enjoyed it.

Who cares where it came from
besides from you: it's a very cool piece. I'm sure I would never have thought of speeding up the recording of my normal playing speed. Great idea I might try: thanks.

Playing around with new toys often helps...
...when I'm running out of inspiration. The Korg M1 is great fun as are all of the TAL synths. There's a long "tradition" of recording stuff at one speed and playing it back at another; many regard it as cheating! In the analogue tape days they had to specially tune the instrument for the difference in speed while midi of course makes that unnecessary when we want to cheat...

Thanks for the feedback!

Awesome,
kid. You built up a good head of steam even if you started with mere trickles. This could be from the Phantom of the opera on one of less crabby days. Thanks.

Thanks you.
It was a fun track to create, playing around with new toys to see what I could do with them. I'm glad some people find it as much fun to listen to as I did to create.

Ha ha ha ha ha
That made me laugh out loud. Just at the moment it's not as easy as it usually is to make me laugh so a big thanks for that. It's also good when people listen and comment, so thanks for the use of ears too...

Thanks.
Yes, a new musical toy can fire me up to create something and the day I wrote this I had just installed three new synths. One new toy, fun, three? Great fun! Anyway, thanks for the comment and thanks for listening.

Nice dark 80sish :)
This is great! I love the M1 - don't use it nearly enough. Has a baroque feel as well.

Thank you.
I happen to think that the 1980s produced a lot of the best synthesiser tunes; the technology was advancing rapidly and it seemed to inspire a lot of people. The creators of those tunes probably had the same feeling playing with their new synths that I got when creating this one. So, why not get that M1 fired up and see what it inspires you to do? Anyway, thanks for the visit, I'm sure we'll hear each other's work again.

Fun to make, fun to listen to I guess...
I'm glad people are enjoying listening to this as much as I enjoyed creating it. As time goes on I hope to get better at this, but this piece was still a fun way to introduce myself to some new synths. Thanks for letting me know it works for you too.

those amazing synth sounds...
...It is always fun messing around with them because they are so unusual. You've got a nice vibe going on here and I am not surprised that you had such fun mixing this all together. From a compositional standpoint, this track supplies a good footprint upon which to build a melody and (hopefully) to engage in some harmonic activity to move the number beyond just a soundscape. I don't mean this to sound as negative as it does; rather, to suggest that you have found an interesting way to "compose" that can easily give you suggestions for development beyond just the initial sounds. Something flying above this kind of improvisation could be magical.

Nothing negative there, just another challenge.
Which I hope will fire me up. This piece will probably stay as it is now, but there will be more and I'll remember your words; thanks for them!

Rumbles of Discontent
I do sense a classical influence in those minor runs. Good use of synths to produce a cool soundbed. Interesting back and forth movement between voices as well. Enjoyed this - thanks!

Thanks to you too.
Glad it has something in it that you like. I do listen to a lot of classical music at times, so I guess the influence is inevitable.

Cool call and response at 2:04. I like the simplicity of the composition. Thanks for the heads-up on recording at a slower speed. I've never done that - and I'm no keyboard player, so that will help tons! Cheers.

Energy was there.

Fired me up for sure.
I guess it was the Deep Purple influence that got me doing that duet/question and answer thing. That band did that a lot with Blackmoore's guitar and Lord's keyboards, and they made it work better than anyone at their height. Anyway, this piece I think reflects the fun I had creating it.

I'm glad it ended up here on MJ. Really enjoyed your use of all those synths on this one. Think I'll venture a download, thank you very much!

synth orchestra
nice cinematic feel. For some reason it reminds me a bit of certain Italian horror movie soundtracks (some of them feature very cool electronic music). I like the different sounds of the various synthesizers. Enjoyed!
