Stan's Tune

Description
Another analogue from the vaults featuring Don Buchanan on sax .He sat in that day ... I remember playing the melody for him a couple of times and then he improvised. I cleaned up the tune the best I could from my cassette ... bit warbly in spots otherwise I'm pretty happy with it. ... this one was originally recorded on 8 tracks live on the floor ... I do believe I overdubbed my lead. .. all I have left of the session is a cassette tape that's been through it's share of abuse. originally was going to write vocals for it but never did ...The band would say "lets play Stan's tune" and thats how it got its name. Thanks for listening ... I'm moving on to the future after this post LOL

Stan's tune
Good jazzy feel to this, and all the players are contributing - the intertwining of the players is what makes live music so special. Must have been fun working with them! Love the guitar tone. You've done a great job with the recording quality, too. Thanks for sharing this, Stan! Good to hear these older works - you need to know where you've come from when you're deciding where to go!

Maybe
you could alternate old and new tunes when you post. Not that I have anything against your new stuff but I guess I'd just encourage you to clean up the older tape stuff before the tapes disintegrate. This is a treat: thanks, I took a copy.

would just add some doobie doos and finger snapping. The sax is a star. The rest of you are grooving along. It sounds great. Thanks for refurbishing an already handsome piece.

Fantastic Playing
Nice relaxed feel to the song, and I'm digging on how the bass walks along. The guitar compliments the sax well. Enjoyed.

Stan's Tune
Very cool mix of jazz, R&B, and rock. Reminds me of the great soul bands of the 60s and 70s. Killer guitar solo.

Stan's Tune
Stan, this is probably going to sound a little silly but, what this tune reminds me of, is when you've been eating a lot of fast food - busy running around or whatever, and you finally get a chance to sit down to a nice home cooked meal! This tune is warm and inviting - no frills, just good old rock and roll jamming and having fun - I enjoyed this!

Stan's Tune
Hi Stan. I've been away travelling in Europe and just got back. Thought I would chase up what you have been up to. I am so impressed with the immediacy and live feel you have managed to get out of the tape. Sounds great. The sax and organ sound fantastic. Fine lead, too. Impressed (as always). Thanks, Peter.
