Description
This is the first song that I've written in Dutch
It's about those dark days in wintertime that make me feel depressed
I added a loose translation for all you non-dutch speakers :-)
I did all the instruments, vocals and mix
Hope you like it

Lyrics

Vooral in 't herfstseizoen

KC december 2012

Days like these

Sometimes I see everything dark
There seems to be no light to my path
It is sometimes silent when I listen well
Melancholy of the falling leaf

I can not stand dark skies
And the days are way too short
Then I just want to escape
It's like my heart withers

Days like these
Especially in the autumn season
There's the gnawing emptiness
And I do not know what to do

Sometimes it makes me cry
When I think of friends of yesteryear
I try to find a place where I can hide
Then the loneliness hurts me

Mooi !
Ja, ik voel meestal hetzelfde, maar mooiere dagen zijn dichtbij !

Really nice song. I see the temperature climbing this week, so hopefully it'll give a break to this really depressing gray sky ! :-)

Love the feel of this - the keys are great for helping to set that. Good vocal tone. Cool guitar - especially the slow solo around 2:10. Good one, KC!

It's nice to hear a song in another language
The phrasing in it's self has an effect on a song. That said the mood is right and all fits well to the instrumentation. I don't understand the lyrics but the delivery sounds spot on. Nice bluesy feel and I'm digging the sax.

Dark Days
Great R & B vibe. Drums, bass and Rhodes piano
with just enough reverb--funky and evocative.
Nice vocal work and horns sound real. Cool lead break...is that guitar or keys. This would work well live.

Lovely R&B vibe, KC. The sax works a treat. It is interesting to see how the rhyming works for the Dutch and how it pans out in English. I really like hearing you sing in your native language. A treat. Thanks. Peter.

Man, this is just so cool!
You may remember how much I enjoyed your last Dutch treat and I think this one is even better. The whole musical groove/vibe/tone of this is sexy as hell and the vocal just adds another layer of texture. I don't think it's at all depressing so in that respect it's a failure ;-) but as a piece of music it is a total success. Damn fine work. Oh, and I took a copy of this one too. Thanks.

Nederlands
Strange how a different language gives a different feel to a song. This makes me immediately think of De Dijk, one of my favourite Nederpop groups. (Gevaarlijke vraag: waar komt jouw tongval vandaan? D'r klinkt iets achterhoeks in.)

Anyway, this is probably the grooviest I've heard you yet. Also a great mix with the vocals up front, yet integrated.
