Valentine's Eve (Remix)

Description
I remixed the previous version of this song. Doubled the harmony vocal and brought the volume up a bit in instrumental section at the end. I hope you like it.

This is a song I wrote about a special day when my wife Kathy and I made a commitment to each other out of the depths of a midwestern winter. In honor of our commitment I wrote this song back in 2007, but have recorded it for our 30th anniversary of that fateful day. I hope that you like this Valentine's Eve waltz.

Lyrics
Valentine’s Eve

Valentine’s Eve in the cold midwest
Where love doesn’t grow on trees.
Two hearts are left on an empty shelf.
Will no hear their pleas?

Looking for love on a darkened stage
Can’t read our lines.
Corner to corner caught in a cage
A comedy for our crimes.

Tell me the truth are you really here?
Or a vision in white.
Can it be more than the atmosphere
That pulls to the light?

Give me a line from a Pinter play
I’ll miss the cue.
Anywhere else I would gladly say
My love’s for you.

Valentine’s Eve in the cold midwest.

New Mix
I remixed this so don't be afraid to listen again. See above for the changes. I also cut the harmony out of the first verse which seems to work better.

I hope you like it and thanks for all the support.

Valentine's Eve
I like this. Simple start and the buildup works well - that instrumental section where everything's going is very warm! The vocal and the harmonies have a sincerity to them that is instantly appealing. Good one!

Has an air of the 60s about it
Heartfelt work Tim and really well done. An interesting melody and arrangement.

I liked the rather skewy orchestral interlude and unexpected end.

Cheers

Dick

England Calling
Since I'm in my sixties everything I do has an air of the "60's" to it. Is that skewy or screwy interlude? I am well-known in screwy, and not necessarily the fun kind. Just the goofy kind.

Dick - I always value your opinion and thank you for coming to listen and comment.

Eve
I like this melody alot....especially when harmony
joins in. Suggests a little Everly Bro's vibe.
Nice storytelling and images in lyric. Singing is nailing it. Well-crafted tune, bro.

Thanks John
I appreciate your comments and thank you for coming by.

I am beginning to think that melody is not valued in pop music these days so I thank you for your comment about it in this song.

I like the waltz...
...that's about it. Don't understand the lyrics.

"Gnarly" ? ... I must have a different definition of the word.

I very much like the simplicity of the tune itself and your very restrained accompaniment and vocal presentation.

Valentine's Eve
The remix has worked out well, Tim. This is an unusual but appealing song and the arrangement has plenty of light and shade. I enjoyed a second listen. Take care, Peter.
