Description
This is a song idea I had tonight. I'm not sure if it flows well though, any tips on the composition? I also have lyrics to it but don't have a mic with me. Took me an hour to record and mix so I know it's rough!

*Note: I am NOT a guitar player! I know I'm not good at guitar, I'm a bass player-.-

yes it is fast
But I have played the song so many times before that I did it in one take. I didnt write it in an hour, that'd be ridiculous! I just threw on a couple effects, doubled the guitar tracks and threw on the bass. Thanks for the comment KC

Some lovely velvety sounds
that go well with the idea of someone waiting for you and imply all kinds of interesting possibilities. A nice idea that flows well to my mind and ears: good luck with it.

thanks
Richard, I feel it is lacking though since there's no lead to it yet, but hopefully some vocals can fill that void.

Waiting
The guitar riff is very catchy, and the live bass sound is special. Develop it.

Glad to hear
you enjoyed it. I was thinking of blending the an overdriven electric in the background with a nice crisp acoustic upfront with it. I too like the bright bass, but I think I'll boost a little bit of the sub in the bass as well for some "Oomph". Thanks for commenting!

Enjoyed!
Your guitars work fine for this listener. The effects interact and soar. Bass adds nicely too.

Thanks for the compliment, I've been really into tremolo lately and I think it sounds nice on this one. Thanks for the comment!

Waiting for Me
Lovely languid beginning. The general structure and overall vibe sound very good. I'm thinking that you probably might be served by shortening it by a good minute or so if it is to develop into a vocal piece. The various chord motifs could probably be easily trimmed in relation to the number of times they are repeated but still achieve the same effect. Just a thought. Good luck with it. It is definitely worth pursuing. Regards, Peter.

Shortening
Yeah I feel like it might be dragging a little too. There are some parts I could edit slightly, but the lyrics kind of take up a lot of it too.

Coming from you
that makes me really want to continue the idea. I just hope I'm not processing the guitar signal too much.

Hey everyone! I love throwing up some ideas on here and seeing what you all think of them. I recently got Pro Tools 10, (very hard to figure it out on your own), and so far it sounds pretty good. All drum recordings are done in about a 10' x 10' carp... [see more]
