Description
This was I song I wrote myself, except the chords in the chorus, which are written by my music teacher. I have produced, mixed and mastered the song myself in my room, with a cheap mic, a budget electric guitar, and my fathers acoustic guitar.

Lyrics
Nearly killed by her smile
Awkward silence, louder than a storm
Her smell, filling the room
Her touch, takes me to the moon
And I still, don't know why
But I will, carry on

Please come to me
Keep an open mind
Please come, stay by my side

See the love we've thrown away
See all places, we never saw the face of
Give me a chance, you're almost unreal
Don't give me love like it's no big deal
'Cause you no, how it feels
To be loved, not for real

Please come to me
Keep an open mind
Please come, stay by my side
Please come to me
Keep an open mind
Please come, stay by my side

Well done, Felix. Catchy tune, good vocals and a engaging arrangement. The production quality is quite good, too. Lots to like. I enjoyed the listen. Thanks, Peter.

Hi Felix
Wow, you've really grown up! Very nice song to start with - lots of interest and very well written. Musically, I really like the way you've used the instruments and especially the way you've left room for the song to breathe. Your vocal is exceptional - I can hear a real edge to your voice just under the surface in the chorus. This is a very good thing, and something you might develop as you get older. You play well - Johannes must be very proud of you - and as I said, you have made a very interesting backing here. By the way, I am very impressed with your harmony vocal here - fantastic.
Cheers from Oz,
Nei

Thanks a lite!
Yes, well I grew up! Glad to hear that you like my vocals, though I have to be honest and admit that the melody was so high so that I had to ad a bit pitch correction.

So here's my fantasy, Felix...
You keep cranking out the well crafted power pop songs, and bit by tiny bit you build up an international following... Sell a few cross-genre hits in Nashville...

When you're on that first American tour, bring your dad, and stop by our house for tea and guitar...

As to THIS song in particular, I enjoy hearing the evolution of your vocal style over the years. Those big choruses are awesome, and I like the more open sound of your vocal tone... The guitar sound is bright but smooth, and I like the guitar rhythm... The blend between the acoustic guitar, the chiming electric, and the distorted electric is smooth and well spread out in the stereo field...

The single criticism I'll make, and it's a small one, is that when the bass first comes in at about a minute in, at first, on my system, it's a little loud, and the same thing at about 2:16. I think it might be that the compressor isn't grabbing the signal quickly...

The mix is clean, clear and spacious. Everything's in tune and in time.

The song itself is very solid, with a strong, catchy, singable melody and a well focused lyric....

Always good to hear another Mackie song.

Regards to your dad....

Very clean and creative
Isn’t it amazing what you can do in your room with a cheap mic and your dad’s guitar ... if you are a great songwriter?

Nicely Done
Your musical sensibilities are very keen and there are a lot of subtle nuances in your composition and performance here that prove it. You've done a very nice job of breathing life into this recording. ;)
