The
sounds that can now be obtained from guitar pedals are pretty amazing really, I have some that make my guitar not sound like one at all :-)
You've got a good rhythm going here Kevin with some great sounds from your guitar.
Very tastefully done, to control all them guitar effects and make it musical is very clever, great stuff!

It takes all of my willpower
not to buy more pedals. I have my eye on a few that are too damn expensive. My biggest investment was the Moogerfooger Ring Mod - but I consider that an instrument as well as a pedal.
As I'm listening again - the overtones get a little over the top towards the end. I tried isolating the frequency and cutting it in GB - but I guess I didn't get it right. Any suggestions?

I've
heard that some guitarists put felt or sponge underneath the strings on the bridge or nut to combat overtone problems although I have never tried it.
I’m not familiar with the pedals you use Kevin but I find dialling back the overdrive/distortion a bit works wonders and if possible EQ the effect before you go into GB.

Thanks for the feedback Bob
pun intended. The problem arises with using an eBow on top of other sounds - which is what I did here. The intensity of the drone just piles up. Since it's all one track - I had to watch my level when playing.

There a very cool compressed smoothness to the clean sound. Some very nice melodic ideas and spacey textures. I have stomp box fever right now. There's a few on my Musician's Friend wish list. I may have to add a Ditto Looper to the list.

The compression is an old
Boss CS2 - one of my first pedals. Pedal fever is dangerous. What are you considering? Ever shopped Sweetwater? They have great customer service.

I agree. This does layer together in a more satisfying musical fashion, Bud. It builds nicely and has a warning bell, wasteland feel to it. Spacey seriousness. Your use of pedals is highly sophisticated. And appreciated. Thanks, Peter.

Warning Bell - that's nice - thanks
I'm thinking at my age it's more likely that I can progress with the tech as opposed to the technique. Sure wish I could play like some of the folks around here.

brilliant
saw a documentary about bowie last week where carlos Alomar was being interviewed and during the interview, he recreated the main elements of 'fame' using looping devices...

I am curious to know/understand how you control all the different layers of sound as build it up...Alomar (and you) make it sound so easy

the ditto looper
is very easy to use - simpler than the boomerang in ways. controlling levels is an issue since there is no remixing that more advanced pedals can offer. there is a built in 2db damp that is added to the existing mix with the addition of each new element so it doesn't become an over saturated mess. timing the start and stop of the first loop is the hardest part.

those loop pedals must be fun, it gets edegy around 1:36 ypur getting the hum to move along with you, I can hear all sorts of things going on in this in headphones this really envelops me! I love this kind of experimentation!

Nice layering buildup and with effects makes it a cool sounding bed to create with. I don't know much about guitar effects but the wavering tones and swooshes are so cool to listen to on headphones. Thanks for sharing

That H2 gets amazing captures
I never ceased to be amazed at the clarity and linearity of the H2's recording. It's like I was standing in front of you. Great work with the looper, moody and brooding... Fun to listen to the piece build.. the eBow stuff is ominous...
