Description
My first post in about 18 months. It's also my first new recording in at least that long, so there you go. :)

This was originally written in 1987, reimagined and recorded for my upcoming (sometime in 2013) CD. It features the incomparable Adam Rafferty on the guitar solo, I'm playing everything else: Drums, bass, rhythm guitar, keyboards. This is my first song recorded on my new DAW; I switched from Adobe Audition after 10 years to Presonus Studio One v2.5. The title is misleading, when the song was originally written, it had lyrics, but they didn't work out, so I did it as an instrumental.

Smooth
Love the mellow sound. Guitar solo is indeed incomparable. Nice to hear the real drums. Not sure about the title ;) Great tune. Thanks.

Thank you!!
I tend to think about curling up in front of a warm fire with hot cocoa when I listen to it; that was the sort of intimate touch I was going for, hence the title... :)

Good to see and hear from you Phil. Very smooth. I always enjoy listening to you play the bass. Very melodic and tasteful. Great playing from Adam as well. Lovely phrasing and dynamics. Hoping it's the first of many.

Phil, it's good to see (and hear)you back in these parts. Smooth, intelligent changes and great melodic playing over the top by both you and Adam. Dynamically this is just right, very mood inspiring. Mix sounds full and wide; excellent post!

I Remember
Hey Phil - haven't seen you in awhile - welcome back! This is about as smooth as it comes - nice tune, with some great bass and guitar work. Seems a little weird seeing a Christmas tree here as we approach summer though! I enjoyed this tune a lot - thanks!

I Remember Christmas Eve
Super smooth and mellow without being saccharine, Phil. Lovely balanced, warm mix, nice bass, and Adam's guitar solo is understated and tasty. Welcome back to MJ. Regards, Peter

I remember
You capture the smooth jazz style beautifully. Gentle melody and warm playing - the blend of simple, sustained notes and some quicker runs make for an engaging piece of music. All the instruments sound great. I love it!

melody
like this free flowing and suggestive work of a memory with latent counter melodies... at least from my pov - being a sax player - can hear all kinds of things here. Glad you worked this up for us. 18 months is a long time to be out of the groove but can understand completely. Wonderful guitar solo work from Adam!

Another fine one; I like it because the jazz feel is there, but the melody remains present and interesting.
