Moving
Nice moving lines.Your use of the different instruments is so fluid that I can see you as conductor in front of your orchestra, cuing in the parts. Thanks.

If Ever There Was A Time
A fine listen, Alimar. It sounds a bit like an overture to a larger musical offering but it has the depth and interest to act as a stand alone piece. Enjoyed. Thanks, Peter.

Magical
This piece has such a timeless, joyful and light feel to it. Wonderful.

I see a black and white film with happy faces, sunny landscapes and a world beyond mental clouds. And musically - this is impressive - the composition is quite complex at times and you are able to maintain this light feel throughout. Great!

Nice one Al!
You sure have a way with this style. Even for someone like me with very little classical knowledge, this is an attractive, enjoyable bit of work - congratulations!

Thanks, my OZ friend
It took me this long, after two years of music theory and music history to become confident with composing. After nine years if fooling around, I feel good! I am grateful you chimed in.

If ever
Light and airy, lovely handoffs across the orchestra and a mid section and ending that reminds me of Gershwin. I don't know if that is one of your 2 favourites, but if so the second one is a bit more of a teaser. I'll have to ponder that, although the flute bits do make me think of someone.

Lovely work as always! Be well,
Doug

Mr. Somers
Thanks for your time in listening and for your remarks. Gershwin is definitely right, I might be presumptuous to think Stravinsky had a part to play in influencing me, though.

Oh my!!
What a treat! Lush, weaving harmonies, and delicate flute lines. I am so impressed. Wish I could write and arrange like this. I closed my eyes and imagined you conducting the LA Phil... Love how the bass drives it in the middle section. the low and middle brass parts are truly inspired!! This is part Broadway overture, and part Rite of Spring; a festive love-child... I was about to write that you should make sure Tobin Mueller hears this; but then I glanced up at your profile and see that you've collaborated. How silly of me not to guess. :) This is wonderful work, I'm a big fan!!!

Llarion
I am greatly appreciative of your words and honored you have spent the time to examine the foundations of this piece.

Also, thanks for being a fan. It's truly 'a time' to be grateful!

Tobin and I haven't communicated in awhile. We have been in and out of MacJams over the past three years. He is surely an inspiration! Maybe he'll get around to listening.

Tasty Good
The dynamics set a great mood. Can I hum a melody along with the orchestration at some point? Ah, the lilting rhythms are really what it is all about... thanks for sharing your work with us!

This really
is a wonderful piece of composing; apart from the instrumentation, which sounds superb, there are the swells and lighthearted parts in the arrangement.... it does have the feel that it could have been composed for a film, with those light changes of mood and subtle hints of humour..... a really lovely and beautifully worked piece Alimar, regards M

If ever there was a time
This is impressive. Big orchestral sounds and the arrangement has good light and shade in it. I love the way you introduce the different instruments, they add to the flow and variety of the melody. It's all beautifully recorded and mixed. Much enjoyed!

The use and placement of the flute really drew me in. Good use of your orchestra pallet. Hey, man. Long time! Hope the family is all well. Peace, Tobin

Peaceful and Romantic
this might sound odd but I could hear Barbra Streisand sing on this tune. It does have a bit of a musical/cinematic flavour to it. You've grabbed my mind away from reality for 5 minutes with this arrangement. Thank you for that! :)
